Fiorecet

I have been suffereing with Migraine headaches for many years.  The nurse practioner prescribes me 120 fiorecets per month.  I am still having headaches and feel anxious.  Can I detox from this drug by just quiting abruptly or do I need to step down the dose gradually.  I think I can do this myself as I am tired of being dependent on these d*m*ed pills.  I still fear the pain of the headaches as I think they are getting worse.  I have headaches daily which could be a result of the fiorecets.

I would bet it is from the fioricets you are probably have rebound headaches .Get off of this med is something you are going to have to work out with your doctor .Alot of doctors  admit the person into the hospital . She may work out a slow taper with you .You CANNOT  CT off of it .There is the possibility of fatal side effects if you do.So plz talk to your doctor you can get off of this stuff I. am sure you will feel soooo much better when you do.

I have Xanex but do not take them regularly.  I have Phenagren and it helps me sleep.  I have a full time job and am uncomfortable with going into the hospital.  Can I detox some other way while i cut down on my fiorecets.  I am afraid of the Dr's labeling me an addict so as when I really need pain meds I can get them.  I had a heart attack in 06 and they put 24 units of morphine in me and shipped me 60 miles to the better hospital and i was still not unconscious.  i feel that i have an extreme high tolerance to pain meds and while not wanting to be addicted to anything, i need relief from my contstant headaches.

Hi you sure can cut down by  a half every month a very slow tapper then each month another. if you have somebody to lock up your meds in give them to you on a daily basic. but you cant cheat are go back you will feel better. take walks every mourning even for five minutes everyday in vitamians and drink lots of water in take a exederin if you have to in between your daily dose, it helps trust me I know this is helping me. I'm down to 7 1/2 almost to 7 I began tappering from 20 to 8 but look where I'm at now. I have a wonderful husband in Dr. it is a very slow tapper for me but it is working and I don;t feel anxious any more you can do this but the key is dont go  back are you will be where you started from it is not worth it.
