First day of sobriety

I haven't taken any pain pills in almost 24 hours. I haven't done this in a very long time. I'm not very sick yet, just kind of restless. I have class tonight, so we'll see how I do in that. I already told everyone I feel the flu coming on. ;) Keep me in your prayers guys.

Good for you!! keep it up. Have you checked into aftercare yet maybe hit up a NA meetings before school? I know when i go to a NA meeting it really lets me relax and get some peace. Much love

Prayin for you Cab....keep reading the posts here...they were very encouraging to me when I went through it 25 days ago.  Especially during the night...funny, I would lay on the couch in the dark and read the forum from my iPhone....I had to keep it plugged in from reading so long...

I probably read here for months before actually kicking the habit....good for you for posting......please don't let your party brain trick you into thinking that you don't have a problem, that you are in control now...stick to your plan! Flush anything that may tempt you...why do you need them?  This will empower you over the addiction.  Funny that we worry so much over the 3-4 days of WD's, but will spend months/years killing our insides...one pill at a time.

In just a few days, you will wake up...the fog will have lifted, you will hear birds again, (are there birds in NY?), you will see colors more vividly, your senses will be returned in a way that you had forgotten....like being born all over again, but without the diaper and liquid food....

You can do this Cabgurl.....you have already started...finish it! See this through...it is the most important thing you will ever do! You can't afford to turn back....

hey girlee..great job the first 24hr can be filled with apprehension and anxiety....I think the thought of going thew withdrawals is actually worst then going thew it...it was for me..today I got 50 days clean and I look at it as one of the best decisions of my life
today and over the next few days you just got to be "ok without being ok for a wile
in a week or so the physical stuff will be over and then you will start to feel better each day that passes...its a small price to pay and only a short wile considering the rest of your life ..pull close to god and pray he helps those that call out his name....jesus came to set the captives free and addiction is one of those captivations it helped me alot to pray and often made the diference of making it the next hour or not..you have made an important decision stick to it ...in the end it is so so worth it....got to run for now ...my grandson just got here so im going to go play...I will add you to my prayer list and will pray god gives you grace thew your withdrawals
