Flu

I have the flu...i am 13 days clean so am pretty sure that is what it is as i have felt pretty good since day 5..also everyone I know around here has this ****....bad timing for me but instead of working...i called in for 2 days to take care of myself..i swear..i almost feel as bad as WD...usually I just keep working as I get sick alot...I am gonna sleep til noon and try to pamper myself like i did during wd so i do not relapse....this is a big trigger for me as i would take pills to make it thru work as I hate calling in sick.....luck to all who feel bad today/////gotta figure out how to go thru this stuff without my crutch

I clean about the same time and feel like I have the flu. Maybe it's the snezzing, but I also have a headache and I don't get those often.

i just got in from work and i think im getting the flu also. ive got the chills now and nausea. i will suffer with you, lol. be strong today and no damn pills. have you had a chance to check out that book yet?

yes...i have ordered it....lost marbles also gave me one to try..i am gonna crash til noon...usually i would take pills and make it thru work...i decided tocall in for 2 days and be nice to myself

i feel for u that sux...hope u feel better soon......one weird point i wanna make though is this: do u remember ever having the actual flu when u were using? i dont....either the pills give us one hell of an immune system or they cover up illnesses...im clean for over 3 months and i bet i have been sick with a cold 3 times already...i never had a cold when i was using for 5 yrs......is that weird or is it just me......congrats on day 13 that  is awesome.....like i said hope u feel better soon

Hope you're feeling better...it seems like a lot of people ahv eahd the flu after they got clean...i had the chills and bone pain and bad body aches a few days ago..too weird....

oxygirl: I did have the flu once while using...and i thought i was going to die...it was for 5-7 days and i didn't take any pillsfor the first 5...hahah that prol' made it worse.....and then i was maybe in wd's and didn't even know it!!!

dont u think thats weird though?.....i had the flu once too but didnt even knwo it....i tested positive for the flu...my kids had it and the dr was like i need to check u too and i was like i feel good but yet i was pos for flu...even had a kidney infection once didnt knwo that either til i ran out of pills andit was so bad they had to put my butt in the hospital...i think pills mask symptoms maybe..what yall think?. i just think its weird

I read the celestine prophecy......The guy has a very wierd style of writing, but the book was intriguing.  I thought it had a good message. Been meaning to read the secret.   I really believe that putting possative things in your head makes a huge difference.

So sorry to hear you are feeling so bad - Try to take care - I realize you know exactly what to do, but of course I feel compelled to state the obvious..chicken soup, hot tea maybe(no caffeine), motrin or something if you take stuff like that, lots of fluids...rest and pamper for sure!  But above all...be strong, I completely understand this being a trigger...it would be for anyone and my heart goes out to you...but everyone is here for you.

I think it is SUPER IMPORTANT to have a strong vitamin program - I am sure you guys get tired of hearing me say that!  Sorry!  I just want everyone to feel/be as healthy as possible...and it makes a huge difference.  I have noticed a lot of people coming down with the flu - or something similiar - so perhaps extra vitamins to boost the immune system as our body is working overtime trying to 'clean up the mess we made'.

The same thing happened to me. I was like 12 days clean then got the flu! I had it for a week! My son had the same thing and was out of school the whole week. I know it's going around here. My wife is a 1st grade teacher and almost half the kids have been out lately because of the flu. My flu was worse than the withdrawals. My body was super achy and I had the chills big time. Also had a headache, a fever, a cough, runny nose, and sore throat! The one good thing about it was I knew it was the flu and knew the pills wouldn't make me feel better. I'm just now feeling back to normal from it! Hey, have Avalanche make you some chicken soup! I made it this past Sunday and it was excellent! Sure hope you get to feeling better!

thanks guys...i slept 4 hours and feel significantly better...usually I would have gone to work and tried to make it...not right now....off to walmart to get what I need to get some sleep tonght..I need something to help with the cough when I wake up in the middle of the night....taken lots of vitamins....gonna rest...dont go back to work til friday

yes, and it tastes so bad, but im telling you, it clears me right up. i took a big swig not long ago, and i gagged at the taste, but it is clearing me up right away and im breathing better already. im not sure if i have the flu or a cold, maybe both. have you never had buckley"s
