Found a good N/A meeting locator online

Just give it your area code and it tells you where there are meetings near you. Here it is http://portaltools.na.org/portaltools/MeetingLoc/

I punched in my zip and got a bunch of meeting just BLOCKS from where I live.  I have NEVER been to a meeting so I am hella stressed about going to one. And to top it off the meeting location is in the church where I got married to my ex. YIKES! talk about facing your demons huh.....don't know if I'm ready to go there but that facility seems to be the most popular and offers the most days of meetings. Oh boy. Now I am double nervous. It's right in my old neeighbirhood what if people there know me and stuff. Jesus I am talking myself out of it. Anyway hope someone can use the link.

I just went to my second NA meeting on Friday night. Although it is nerve wracking you will see once you get in their that the people there are all like you in one way, they all have had to struggle with drugs and they are more then willing to help you. At the meeting I went to I was given a list of phone numbers for all the gals in the meeting with decent clean time. I was also given a list of meetings in my area. Just being there with these people and hearing their stories and getting much needed support can go a long way in helping a person like me or you who is struggling. They give me hope and inspiration and although I love this forum, there is nothing like getting real life support from people who understand what its like to go through this. Nobody will judge you and even if you saw someone you knew - they are there for the same reason and it is a rule in NA or AA that nobody talks about who they see at their meetings. They will make that point at every meeting. But if it makes you feel better, pick a meeting thats a little further from your home town and go to it. And you may have to try out a few meetings before you find your ''home'' group. By going to meetings you are utilizing a very powerful resource to help you stay clean, kudos to you for doing that!! I thought I could do it alone but a relapse taught me that I can't. I NEED their help and by getting and staying clean I can help others and so on. Try it, you'll see that you have nothing to be afraid of. They are people like us and can really help you.
