Fourteen days Sober and sleeplessnights?

I have been trying neurontin 100mg and trazadone 50mg since coming off of opiates 8 a day for the past year and a half.  Unfortunately, I have been taking the trazadone for a long time, the no sleeping is abig trigger for me, lack of energy afterward.  I want to stay off of opiates, it about killed me to get off of them and yes I go to meetings, any suggestions.  Thanks

Wow do I know what you're talking about here.  My advice is to not lie in bed and toss and turn and get frustrated because frustration does nothing but guarantee insomnia.  Understand it's natural during this time to go without sleep.

When you try and sleep, make sure you're comfortable and if it happens, take what you get.  If you can't get to sleep or wake up and cannot return to sleep, get up.  Go and read or watch a movie or come here and post.  Sit in a lazy-boy type chair and relax.  If you feel like it, close your eyes.  You may get a few more hours this way.

If the chills or sweats are still around, take a shower.  They do wonders for relaxation.

Yes the sleep does come back, stay patient.  For most it is back at 30 days.

You're doing awesome, hang in there. Getting your life back is worth it.

Your best ally is time. Taking drugs to induce sleep, even non addictive ones, just mess around with the sleep cycle. Most people, even those with massive habits, see sleep return to normal by 30 days. I know it's frustrating, but not life threatening. When your body needs sleep, you will. The sleep you'll get when your normal cycle returns will be the best sleep of your life.
