Friends and heroine use.

by Someguy19, Sep 30, 2007 10:48PM
So i have two friends in particular, one who has been in detox and in-patient rehab got out and is still using. friend #1 (the one whom has been to treatment) has been using for close to a year. He started out smoking it (black tar/opium) and has been shooting for as far as i know for probally seven or eight months maybe longer.

Friend #2 has been using for probally five months not completley sure. He still lives at home. Both of the kids are eighteen years old. They think that there is no hope for them but i know there is. I have known friend #1 for eight years and untill latley was my closest friend. Im still equally as close to friend #2 which is my reason for coming onto these fourms for advice.

They have literally been ghosts, i know friend #2 has been hanging out with a kid who constantly gets large quantities of the stuff. Im not sure what to do but i think my options are tell friend #2's parents but that would be very hard for me.

I cannot tell friend #1's parents because they kicked him out of the house before for the heroine and then i took him in untill i had to kick him out because of his use. They both have steady jobs (I don't know how they do it) and one is in college but wont be continuing it, i believe because of his use.

Another thing, i know the kid who friend #2 has been hanging out with and no doubt influencing the use. So next time i see him im going to confront him peacefully telling him to stay away and im willing to help him also. If the kid doesn't stay away its not going to be good for his safety.

This is hard for me because i was there with them doing it also, but when our little "recreational hobby" started to get less recreational i quit drugs all together luckliy i didnt get hooked.

My two friends mean the world to me and i really want to see them get better. They both have so much potential but the heroine is slowly changing them. I see it as do other close friends. I dont really know what to do being 19 and all.  so if someone could give me some advice who has had similar experiences on what to do i would be very appreciative. I love these two kids and don't want them to get completley lost.

Also just a little information on the frequency of their use i know friend 1 "has" to do it three times daily. and for his job he is constantly going out of town for a roofing job.

Thank You

Thanks for you comment. I think your right, when they are sober would most definetly be the best time to talk to them. I just have to find a time when they are. But hopefully that will work i will definetly give it a try.
