GIP-Physichiatrist OR Family Doc?

by vicaddict, Jan 07, 2007 12:00AM
Ya know..I was wondering this last night and I forgot to ask. Now I have a Physichiatrist, he is who perscribes my anti-anxiety meds and my depression meds and my beta blocker. I have never told him about the vicodin.
What is your opinion on this? Do you think it is worth a shot to talk to him instead? Or first maybe? Or just stick to my main plan and go straight to my Family Doc? I only ask this as I saw someone say something that they had spoke to their Physichiatrist and they were getting help there.

Just curious.

Thanks hun!

Tell both...maybe before they do a taper plan they can consult so between the two of them they can moderate what your doing more closely.

Definately go for the gusto and tell both of them.

Don't forgot the roller coaster ride of these drugs cause ANXIETY ....ESPECIALLY doing a lot then not having any, and the beat goes on.   Opiates are the cause of the anxiety to begin with.  Well not in all cases... but they do play a huge part in the depression area as well as the anxiety levels.

Tell both Drs... if one disagrees with what the other is doing maybe they will consult... and you can get a brand new lease on what's been happening.

Been off for 2 days now and am feelingnotsobad cause I got a doctor to prescribe elavil and flexeril, which seems to help.  Elavil is a strong anti-hystimine and anti-depressant, which is like lights out at night. And Flexeril is a muscle relaxant.  Dunno if I will be in worse shape tomorrow or not?  I've heard a few people saying it got worse??

Anyway, my wife takes vicodin because it is OK for nursing.  I don't know about anything that is better without being hooked on it as she is not.  I know the relapse game is a hard thing to keep getting into with all the worries of worth.  Just know my prayers are with you and good to see that you are writing on this site.
