Getting off Fiorinal 3

Getting off Fiorinal 3

I have been addicted to Fiorinal 3 for years now.  I have finally decided to quit taking them once, and for all...it has made me sick, and my family has suffered because of it.  I never been this ready before to quit the meds....I am tapering off right now, and my husband is helping me.  Is there anyone else out who has been addicted to this med?  If so, how did you get off, and stay off?   I am really struggling to be normal again.....and not need this med.

Hi and welcome!

I was addicted to Fioricet without codeine for 20 plus years. As of today,I am 100 days clean. I know this drug very, very well...You've been taking F with C so that's a double whammy.  Tapering is the ONLY way to get off this horrible drug. You must taper;it's dangerous to ct.

I tapered over time, slowly from 20 per day to 2 per day and jumped from there. It was slow so physical withdrawals were mild and I had a lot of support from my husband. He just kept telling me I was going to be okay, not to worry about wd's,and I began to believe it.I had to. I just surrendered to the addiction.
Good food, liquids and vitamins were/are a huge help. I feel and look so much better.I act better. My mood is stable. I gained weight (I was down to 102lbs ).

I'm personally able to stay off because I will NEVER forget what I went through right before I quit. It's my deterrent now. I also have a lot of support, stay active etc..I've changed routines.  It's doable but tapering is hard and the whole process takes a lot of hard work.  I had some anxiety in the beginning which is better now. Everything's better!!
You will feel normal again...time is your friend.

Post back with specific questions and I'll do my best to help.Or feel free to just write but keep posting.  There are some wonderful folks on this forum!
