Getting off Tramadol

I am trying to get off Tramadol, my doctor is trying to help me, he put me on Buspirone 15 mg 4 times a day, It makes me feel wierd, I don't like it. I don't like the feelings I get either going cold turkey off Tramadol, flu like sumptoms, sweating, irritated, just not feeling good. Busirone helps, but I was wondering if there is something that is better.

The feeling you have may be part of the w/d. Hang in there and if it doesnt pass in 4 or 5 days talk to your dr about changing your meds. It takes a while for the med to get in your system and start working like it is supposed to.

Thank you Alli, I did lower the dose myself to 5 mg. instead of the 15mg. and now I only take it if I feel like I need it. I just wondered if there was something else that would make me feel better and not so wired all the time feeling.

DO NOT stop taking the tramadol cold turkey. You must wean off of it....Hopefully your dr advised that. You can possibly have seizures if you stop c/t. Ask your dr about lowering your Busiprone dose. That may help. Hope it works out for you.
