Avisg is so right, I have/had endometriosis and what you are having is a laproscopic procedure, very minor, minimal pain. There was not anything that could really be done for my endo but when they did the lap procedure the doc was able to remove the cysts on my ovaries which eliminated some of the on going pain I had, I am sorry it is not a pleasant disease and unfortunately not a lot of options other than a hysterectomy . I hope you have a mild case and the docs can treat you via laprosopic surgery. Honest what you will have on Thursday will cause minimal pain, probably no more than the bad cramps you get with your period.
Take good care dear and focus on your healing, it will take your mind off of the drugs that more than likely you wont even need. Please let us know how you are doing.
Kalie,
I had no really bad as well I had the lap your having done about every 2 years. The cuts are tiny tiny you will be surprised when you wake up and see that they can do all that threw such tiny incision's.They will laser out any endo they see .It really will only be mild pain and within a day or two you will be up and around so try to to worry to much .Try motrin first for pain then if it does not work take the other meds do you have someone to hold onto them for you ?The most uncomfortable part of it for me was the gas they use to blow up the area they are using get up in your shoulder blades walking around help the most for that ...let us know how it goes.
I have severe pain every month during my menstral cycle, and I am 29 yrs old and have never had kids. So they are making two incesions on each side of my lower stomach and cutting open my belly button and going in with a scope, to look around to see why i am hurting so bad and to see why i can't get pregnant. Also i have endermedeosis (spelling) which they are going to cut out. So i am a Little scared :-(

Sorry for your situation and hope all goes well with the surgery. I had to get surgery in November and I was not quite 2 months clean. I was sooo worried.
The surgeon said I would need a morphine drip when I woke up and I knew that I would need pain meds. Like Gizzy said...get someone to hold them and just give you as needed. Start trying OTC pain meds after the second day or so and alternate taking pain meds...OTC...switching every 4 hours.. I came out of it OK. I was mostly afraid I would have major cravings but didn't. The anesthesia and just the trauma from the surgery pretty much kept me from getting any high off of it.
We never know how much pain we are going to be in but looking back I should have taken less. An addict should never be given a morphine pump......pump.....pump. I would have definetly been in pain without the meds but to be honest, looking back, if I had the same procedure over, I would have taken less, and stopped them sooner and tolerated the pain once it was minor. Stay honest and post to let us know how you are doing....or better if your going to NA, talk about it.
I will keep you in my prayers hon. Good luck. Corey
I am sorry your gonna have to go through this, i can't imagine how scary it is to need pain meds after quitting. If your gonna be in that much pain, nobody deserves to suffer, but still we can't be trusted. Do you have someone that can hold them for you if you go on them? Good luck with your surgery and keep us updated. Congrats on almost one month clean:)
