Going cold turkey

I am doing this cuz of my special needs daughter.  I have been trying tapering and it is too slow so after I heard my daughter tell me 'mommy please dont ever leave me' I was crushed totally crushed I said I wont baby.  I left the room and cried tninking about this and said thats it its over I'm jumping. I was taking lortabs 3-4 at a time which was 20-25 in a day. Spending approximately $400. weekly.Sometimes I would go thru a bottle of 120 in 4 days and then I would ask myself where did they go this is horrible I need to do this now. I have had too many close calls and they are really cracking down where I live with clinics and pharmacies.  So it is my first day and I havent had any it is 2:15 pm I am starting to get rls only when I lay down. I had posted before and I do have a hair line fracture on my rib, But too bad I am taking ibuprofen for the pain. Oh and by the way I was diagnosed anemia anf low blood pressure when I went to the hospital the day I blacked out.  I know the worst is yet to come.  Just please please stand by me please I really need to do this for myself first of all but also for my daughter she has been through so much in her life (25 times hospitalized with pneumonia and other issues) I cant do this to her.  I went to the Dr. yesterday (not for pills) but a followup on my rib she wanted to give me more tramadol and she also gave me Deuxis 800mg.  Does anyone know about this and no I did not fill the trmadol. I have been doing housework even though I wanted to just lie in bed but I said no, no, no get your *** up and do something so I did. I know them night will be bad but I think I will get up and go to the couch watch tv and I can fall asleep whenever cuz I will already be on the couch watching tv.

The Deuces you were asking about is famotodine and ibuprofen.. it is usually used to treat osteoarthritis.  I am personally in the same situation as you with one exception.. I am pregnant and am cold turkying from oxy, paxil, muscle relaxers and fentynal..the withdrawals you face are scary..but here's a few things that can help.  Lots of Hot baths the hotter the better( don't scald urself). Next while in the tub let yourself sweat but be drinking cold water through out this time..the reason for the hot bath is this...it will trick ur inner thermostat to help with the hot and cold sweats plus ur drinking to replace the fluid ur sweating out essentially your overloading ur internal thermostat.. the more u sweat the faster ur metabolism works, which helps in burning out the residual medication faster,,u drink to cleans your kidneys which also helps get the medals out. The other reason for the hot bath is to overload ur nervous system... the body gets so consumed in trying to adjust to the heat that it overrides the feeling of RLS or if you start having cramping or the need to try to twist ur limbs in aquward positions..not to mention the heat will help reduce muscle tightness.Reduce ur caffeine to help reduce tremors and shakes.if u find urself having severe anxiety remember to talk urself through it..anxiety attacks typically only last twenty minutes and u deem strong u can make it through them, you'll start to notice as you do this they stop lasting as long..tell yourself withdrawals are simply the brains desperate atempt to be in control..unfortunately for us it will send false transmissions to the nerves telling them to cramp, ache, or panic..repeat this to yourself everytime u start thinking of going off the wagon.
" calm the mind And heal the heart, calm the heart and you control body, control the body and you control your mind control your mind and YOU CONTROL YOUR LIFE AND YOUR FUTURE FREE OF PAIN AND IN TOTAL CONTROL..
Hope this helps,I've got a ton of other tricks to try,and they are all at ur disposal

Hello. I'm new to this so I'm a little nervous. I am on day six of cold turkey from hydrocodone. I've been on and off for about three years. I got tired of running out and not being able to find any then going through withdrawals until I found some more. I'm tired of it running my life. I have been reading these forums for weeks for support because I can't tell my family what I have been doing. I wanted to tell you that the first few days were rough for me but mainly no energy and depression. I feel a little better every day. I want you to know that it's wonderful you have made the decision to stop. One other thing I would like to tell you is that I also was prescribed tramadol in the past and took it for three months due to back problems. It's not considered an opiate but it is opiate-like. In my personal experience the withdrawals from those were much worse. Be careful. Once again, congrats on your decision to quit. You can do this:)

I had forgotten about DMX for RLS!  It's suggested by some physicians often for RLS and it apparently works well...

When going through hell, just keep going.  U r so amazing and strong to even attempt this.  Bless u.  Benadryl for anxiety...worth a try, u can take 3, I take more sometimes.  Dmx or robitussin helps opiate w/d.  Try to get some comfort meds from Dr. If it gets too bad.  Neurontin, clonidine, immodium....I feel so bad for u BC I know how u feel, but give u the most credit for sticking w it.

I had a prescription of xanax but I heard it wasn't good so I have been trying to slow down on that... The RLS thing is TERRIBLE  and even with the xanax I still had it the first 3 nights.. Someone suggested icy hot and wrap your legs with an ace bandage.. THAT HELPED :):)
