Got Our First Suboxone Appointment :)

Well, my husband and I got the call today that we're accepted into a suboxone program, which is actually only a few streets away fron our house. Anywho, all isnurance and paperwork is all done and we go in Monday at noon. The both of us. They said we can't do anything after saturday night, go through w/d's all day Sunday and then we go in on Monday. I am so pumped up. I thought we would have to wait at least a few weeks but we actually know the person that handles the suboxone patients and she helped us out to get in earlier which is awsome. I am really nervous about sunday because we've been goin strong for a year or two. when we could do 6 or more 80mg's a day and not feel a thing then it's time to stop. I'm nervous and excited at the same time. Anyone have advice, positive experiences with suboxone?

Suboxone is a miracle drug, regardless what anyone else says about it. It pretty much saved my life and it can do the same for anyone on a hopeless cycle of opioids. Let me know if there is anything I can help with. I have a lot of experience and gained a certain amount of knowledge through intense study. Not that I am an expert or anything, but I'll be glad to partner with you.

i was on a suboxone treatment plan for around 8 months and i have nothing but psoiive things to say about the drug..you def. have to not have taken any oxyies o other opiates for at least 24 hrs. before starting suboxone otherwise youll go into full blown even worse wd's..its terrible ive seen it before and its a horrid site..generally you need to be in moderate wds and then you can start the tratment...i went into the hospital to detox ona saaturday and suboxone doctors supposedly dont see patients on weekends so i had to wait until monday night to see him...so from saturday to monday at 5:30pm i went through pure hell, i was heavily addicted for two and half years to snorting H/Oxycontin, and tons of it too, me and my gf spent so many thousands of dollars its so sad to look back on it all once youve gotten clean...buprenorphine the active drug in suboxone is a very potent mixed opioid, it actually has more of a positive treatment effect at lower doses(4-16mgs) and it has a ceiling effect at 32mgs a day..after that it turns into full on opioid antagonist and will put you into severe severe wd's, so it very pointless to go any higher than 24 mgs, i was on 32mgs for the 8 mths. and from personal experience and others i would say going any higher than 24mgs is ointles and you get way more effect and buzz from 16mgs, thats how unique suboxone is...youve made an incredible decision for both of you to get into the treatment program, if you stick with it and really want it it will change your life and youll truly get to live your life again, it feels amazing...it takes away any physical wds youll be ahving after sunday and sweep away just about all the mental cravings and anxiety of getting off..it works great for most...i wish you both the ebst and let us know how teh appt. goes, you def. have a great plan cuz suboxone works great for getting off of OC's and other opioids...-christos
