Got to teach next week; help!

by sweetpea94, Jul 30, 2009 09:02AM
My story is typical of most everyone else I see on here.  I was addicted to Stadol nasal spray and hydrocodone (usu. 2  10 mg per day) for about 8 years.  My physician died about a month ago.  I did not want to continue to use these drugs, and decided after running out, I would have to quit. Well, that was last Saturday with the Stadol and took last two Lortabs Weds.  The diarrhea and dry heaves are the worst.  I am so afraid of having to go into work on Monday and standing in front of a classroom and try to concentrate on teaching.

I did go to a G.P. and told him my story.  He said to use Benadryl and Alleve and couldn't tell me if I would be able to go to work Monday.  I understand that, but my anxiety over my work and being such a poor mother to my son right now is killing me.  Any suggestions on getting through the workday?  I absolutely cannot eat, have lost 7 pounds and tremble all the time.  Please, help.

Use immodium for the loose stool.....use emetrol for the stomach......Walgreens has soy bean nutrition drinks (like ensure) that are good for no appetite....breathing exercises help with anxiety - as does the amino theanine. Read the Amino Acid Protocols in the Health Discusion area/ or through search engine. And good  luck to you - you arent on that huge a dose - you should be able to put this behind you - - - wont be fun - but its doable....

Congrats on getting your life back :)  Everything theeagle said is correct!  It will be tough, you just have to set your mind to it and realize that.  But your dose wasn't as high as most, so it should not be nearly as bad :)  Any questions, just come here...there are amazing people on this site :)

Keep us posted,

Kel
