H and anelp with withdrawl & when will I get better?

My story is long and complex. I'm on fentanyl for degerative disc disease. I was forced off methadone after taking 50mg/day for 3 years. I tapered down over 2months to 30mg/daythenquit it when put on the Fentanyl.  I immediately started getting sick.Absoluely no help from Dr. Was also taking 15mg5x aDay of Roxicet and forced to go cold turkey. Since July I've been taking around 30mg day of ambien and 10mg of methadone twice a week to help with  withdrawls. I must stay on the Fentayl  and get off of everything else. It seems like this will never end. Any help, advice, questions, Please reply. Thanks

THANK YOU FOR REPLYING!! It is finally good to know that there are people that care and want to help. Any info or advise you can give would be greatly appreciated. As I said at the beginning, my story is very long and complex. Trying to raise our 2 grandchildren, ages8&6. Is very rough. Most of this they don't understand and  are brokenhearted because we are so sick. This is the MAIN REASON I MUST GET BETTER!!!!  FOR THEM!!. These withdrawals have gone on soo long that I can hardly do anything anymore but cry. I'm only  50 yrs old and I pray to live at least 10 more years for the kids. Just a few short years ago I was in great health with a happy family. Now it seems to be ripping away from me.

I'm so sorry younger going through all this at once..hand in there I know it doesn't seem like it but thing will get better...you should call your insurance company and explain everything to them the are there to work for you ...they should be able to demand your records on your behalf....finding a good these days is very hard . I'm keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers...

I went to the worst pain management Dr. there is.  The only one my insurance would pay for. He just copycatted the pain scripts I was previously getting from my Dr. I would wait 4hrs to see him have 2 minutes in his office to speak, he would say "oh I'm so sorry to hear that", hand me my scripts that were pre prepaired and say "next!". It was a heard of cattle,30+ patients in less than 2hours. I don't see how  these operations are legal but they get away with it. I've been trying to get into a new pain Dr but they won't see me without my records from the old pain Dr. Been trying to get them for months. I'm just ignored.

Yes...you need a new doctor.  A good doctor KNOWS that chronic pain patients DO get dependent on their meds. It happens and it's a problem but the answer is not cutting off all the meds.  There are exceptions.

The DEA gets involved and hassles the physicians about narcotics so that's a problem, as well. But it's not YOUR problem!

Why wouldn't the pain management doctor treat your pain? What did he do for you?

She(Dr) Ihad to beg for 9 months before she would give me the fentanyl.  I was seeing a pain mgmt dr who wouldn't even discuss it. The nerves in my back are pinched in such a way that the bottom of my feet BURN LIKE FIRE!! I was at the point of suicide because no one would help. The patch saved my life. But now she wants me off of everything. I'm afraid she is not going to refill my script. She says I'm an addict. If so , it's NOT MY FAULT. I"VE never been one to get high or anything like that. I'm Trying to get a new Dr. but insurance restrictions are in my way.

Wow! How much are you expected to take?? I'm sorry for all of that...

Another thought I had was maybe speaking with the doctor who prescribes the fentanyl and getting that increased to the point where you're not feeling wd's. It might eliminate one problem...or maybe two!

I had a burst period when my BP was as high as 240/138. With meds it has came back down to it's usual high of 160/90 and it lowers ok with meds. I just found out today that i'm in stage 3 renal failure. My prolactin pituitary hormone is very high at 135. All this with me and my wife has breast cancer too! The stresses of all of this are killing me too.

Okay...I'm not an expert with fentanyl and methadone so I hope some other members post.

You somehow need to adjust to that one dose of fentanyl. Taking the methadone isn't helping that process so do you think you can start tapering that down? Just leave the ambien alone for now though. One thing at a time.

Is your b/p still elevated? That's not good...

THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR RESPONDING!!!  I've been on the 75 patch since july. I was told I wouldn't withdrawl while on the patch....WRONG!!!! I've had every kind of withdrawl symptom you can imagine from the constant nausia, shaking, stroke level high blood pressure, heart attack symptoms, etc. Right now I have constant nausia, lump in my throat massive anxiety-crying panic attacks that won't stop.

How long have you been on Fentanyl? What dose?  You've had wd's all this time even though you're on fentanyl?  Can you explain a little clearer...?
