I wish you best in your recovery at the rehab.I would look hard for a sober living facility while your in rehab. They may have a connection they can refer you to. I think going back to house full of user's is a VERY bad idea. Its got relapse written all over it. You need a plan for sure if you want to succed. A few days of rehab isnt a perfect miracle, its just the very begining of a long road, and you want a map of too where your going and how to get there. I dont mean for it sound like theres a lot to it, you just need to have a plan for sucess in your recovery. Your on the right track posting here and going to rehab. Try to get a seriose aftercare program in place when you leave rehab.
Wishing you the best.

Amazing Post! Thanks for sharing! I learned all those things as well. I remember hearing them say in meetings, "whatever you do, just don't pick up"... gosh it would drive me nuts. Now I hear myself say things like that. Anyway, I really enjoyed reading what you had to say. Thanks again!

the three most important things i got out of rehab were:

1) don't keep secrets - keeping secrets keeps us sick

2) change all people, places and things - i had to avoid anything, anyone and anywhere associated with my addiction/using

3) go to meettings, go to meetings, go to meetings

i heard, but didn't "buy" these things at my first rehab. i won't say that it was 28 days down the drain.  however, i relapsed almost immediately, lost everything that i thought i was protecting by keeping secrets and doing it my way, and i was back in rehab in far worse shape less than five months later.

the second time i was gone for 122 days and i "bought" everything like it was free (which it is).

recovery is a really good place to be, but i couldn't find recovery until i ceased fighting everyone and everything.  unconditional surrender was the only way i could win.

"the one who surrenders the most wins."

Oh wow I can't imagine going back to everything after rehab. Addiction is a tricky thing, and you may find yourself thinking it's ok to do it one more time. Is there anyway the rehab could hook you up with a half way house? The longer you can stay in rehab the better. Addiction is more than just physical pain. It's also mental and spirtual. Give yourself time to heal. All the best. Please keep posting!

Your going to rehab, thats good to get away from them. I am sorry you dont have no place to go after. 2 days thats good give it 2 more and you will start feeling better. Stay at rehab as long as you can. It will be hard coming home to addicts but you will have a clear head when you do. So use that to your advantage. Take a long look at the people you live with and see how they act. This was you, are they really happy? I dont think so and you will be able to see that. Just by watching them and what they go through just might help you live your new life, I wish you lots of luck, keep posting and keep reading on here that will help. everyone is great here. good luck!
