Habits and Lies

Hi everyone,
I was on a work trip Mon - Fri, and am SO glad I got through it without pills. I was free of them, but not of the cravings. It is one step at a time for sure. I have all of these lies living in me. Like "I can't be happy without it." or "I don't have enough energy," or "My feet hurt from my shoes." LOL.
Then, when I came back from my trip and had a zillion things to do, my HABIT reflex kicked in. Whenever my mood dips, I habitually would take a pill. INSTEAD I had to just sit with my stinkin' bad mood. Oh well.
GENUINE. That's how I feel.
Also remember nothing lasts forever. Not even a bad mood.
~Day 19! Please keep up the support. I thought about all I've read here while I was on my trip and it helped a lot.

As addicts we like that instant gratification....with recovery it is a slow process.  I know we say it takes time alot but that is the truth.  We have abused our body and mind for a long time and it takes awhile to get everything straightened out.  Dont get overwhelmed with things, prioritize them and go from there.  You are doing great so keep it going!!!

I totally understand where ur coming from.. Tomorrow will be a month since I've quit taking the subxone. My emotions r coming back n spurts. If I get anxious I want a pill, stress=pill, upset= pill. I haven't had emotions n over 5 years I actually forgot how to feel and how to do with them. But the thing is, I'm doing it!

Today was hard. Super dip in energy and Had to perform. I brewed up some strong coffee and kept telling myself I'd reward me with a "post" on this forum. BBTW, what do we call this group? The Free Fighters?? LoL
