Has anyone ever had major anxiety attacks with withdrawl(withdrawal)

I have had alot of anxiety and depression during this withdrawl (withdrawal) thing, but the other day I had an actual panic attack. My heart was racing, I couldn't breath and was shaking like I was having a seizure or something. I am 45 days off of hydro's has anyone else experienced panic attacks during withdrawl (withdrawal) and should I still be having this after 45 days??? Please help I feel like I am losing my mind.

I never have personally but many, many members have. It is not uncommon. It is also not uncommon for recovering addicts to be on an anti-depressant. It is simply a chemical imbalance and they are a lot of good medications on the market today that can help you.

I think you should go see your doctor and see how he/she feels about the situation.

Just know you are not alone.

Thanks so much. This is so frustrating for me. I think I really messed up the chemicals in my head. I can see why so many relapse, but I don't want to be one of them. I have made it this far and don't want to go back.

I know how you feel. I had a panic attack a few months ago when coming off the oxycontin. I HAD NEVER even experienced the slightest bit of anxiety in my entire life and I had NO IDEA what was happening to me. I was absolutly terrified, god those things are soooo scary. Thankfully my roommate used to get them so she knew what was happening and helped me through but I don't know what i'd do without her. For the next few days I was terrified to be on a bus or in a classroom or anywhere that waasn't open becaues I thought I would just have one again. The doctor gave me some ativan but I ended up just abusing those and so I had to stop that. Luckily since then I haven't experienced anything like that, but I did find during that short time that drinking cold water, getting up and taking a walk, doing something to distract yourself, all help ease through that. So sorry to hear you are going through that, I understand how scary they can be.
