Oh God, headaches were my worst symptom. I was sure I had a brain tumor. Drink lots of fluid and put ice on the back of the neck. Even with the perfect taper, you will suffer a bit. Just know it will go away and try not to focus on it. Everyone is different. I never had the restless leg stuff, but I swear my head was about to explode. Dig deep for your patience......your getting there.

I was taking loratabs as well. Only 6 a day but it was snuff to make me go thru an uncomfortable detox. The anxiety and headache were my worst symptoms. You are so right, not sure how long you were taking them, but you can never get those years back. It only gets worse, I promise you. So proud you are getting level now and reclaiming your freedom from stupid pills.....it really is a dead end road.

You can take motrin. I would wait on dropping for a few days. Please be patient you have been taking them for 5 years. It is going to take some time to get off them. Keep up the good work. Hoping and praying you feel better.

Ok, so that is the exact about I was taking and I did for about 4 years. I tapered to 2 pills a day then stopped. Relapsed months later cause I thought, I could just take one now and then......SO WRONG. I had to stop cold turkey. It took me a good 10 days to feel normal. Listen to atthebeach GG, she knows what she is talking about. I think I did not do this detox very textbook cause I was stubborn. I did have a friend on this site tho that seriously walked me thru the hard parts. I am here and feel free to PM me for anything. YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!

Try an icepack on your forehead for a bit. If that doesn't help steam a wet cloth in the microwave and place it over your head and nose. Advil helps too. Try very hard not to go up on your taper. That screws the brain up and I think makes things worse. I drank lots of sleepy time tea cause it helped my tummy and anxiety. JUST DON'T give up. It is a kinda pay now or pay later kinda deal. Hold strong and navigate your way thru. Prays and hugs for you.

The headache are something aren't they? They will go.away when your brain rests. This is part of.the process of getting used to lower amounts   the only thing that touched my headaches was motion 800. And a wash cloth over my eyes. I was so sensitive to light. I even wore sunglasses inside lol. They do get better after a couple.of.days when your body adjusts. Also try to.keep.fluids going. When i didn't drink or eat they became worst.

Hi there! We can't offer specific taper advice on the forum; it's against policy. I CAN tell you that the secret to tapering is cutting back SMALL amounts of the drug over a longer period of time. If you do that, your symptoms will be much less severe.

For now, treat your headache with OTC pain relievers, ice,hot shower,etc...
For your legs, try taking magnesium and potassium tablets and apple/orange juice.  Tapers should always be very slow, okay?

All I can say is when it is over, and it will be, You feel like you won the lottery! No more chasing the next pill bottle, no more lying to your family, no more waking up at dose time with your tummy jittering. I could go on and on. I wish I had better taper hints, but I just stopped at around 15 mg. Stay busy, watch movies, lay in bed if that is all you feel like doing. Do you have support at home?

The more you are up and moving the better it will be.  We have to get our natural endorphins working again as they got real lazy.  Bananas are also good for RLS.  Keep moving forward.  You will get there so be patient~~sara

Oh Yes, Been there, did that. Thats tough, I know. What about a girlfriend you can unlayer what your feeling to?  It's ok, you can do this alone and as a special friend told me, if I didn't detox on my terms I'd be in rehab doing it and my whole family would find out. This somehow lit a big fire under my tush to stay on task. ha!

Hi there...
I know the headaches are rough...I had a migraine the whole last month I was tapering and didn't figure out why until I stopped (CT) off the opiates..My headache went away within 24 hrs of the drugs leaving my body.  I still had sinus pain while detoxing but nothing like before.  I am not suggesting you go CT-if you do a taper properly I know it can greatly reduce the w/d symptoms.  I had the luxury of detoxing at home with full support of my family.  Exercise really helps as does deep breathing and meditation.  I would go to yoga and it would make it go away for a few hours at least.  Deep breathing...
Keep hanging in there...

Can you google it? Ask a doc on line? Do you have a 3 day weekend coming up where you can just go CT and get er done? I understand the taper so you can still do your day to day. What about PM others on this site that have had good luck tapering for "tips"?
