hi my friend,,so sorry about that..it's a horrible feeling.
Yes, huge loss in my good ear and more in my other ear. Tinnitus I have dealt with for years but it is so loud sometimes I can hear it over a passing train.
yes..ringing in the ears is a listed side effect of hydros and many other pain meds..I have lost partial hearing in my good ear(deaf from mumps in the other)..the ringing has gone away but i lost 7% of hearing in my other ear and the dr's said i won't likely get it back..
I get ringing in my ears alot and also this plugging sort of thing when I'm using.....
Yes, ringing in the ears or tinnitus is a fairly common side effect..I've got it along with a partial hearing loss..or so my wife says.

I don't know about hearing loss, but I do get a lot of ringing in the ears. I never really thougt about it, but maybe that is related to my addiction.
WOW, I knew my hearing was getting worse but I didnt know *I* did it. I thought it was because I was getting older, although I am in my 40's. Damn.....just goes to show how evil this drug really is. I wonder if there is any hope for recovery of hearing after you stop? Sounds like from the above posts, that there isnt. I had no idea. Well this gives me more incentive to stop. I do not want to be deaf AND dumb (from relapsing).
yes, my hearing was perfect before my addiction...i have some mild hearing loss in both ears Dr said it was from heavy opiate use...
I have not heard of that but it does show how damaging these things are to us. I know just withdrawing off these things it affects every function of the mind and body. Sinus, every joint, everything...
Yes I also have heard of this being common among opiate users, I have a friend who cant hear very well out of her left ear due to long term vicodin use, also Rush Limbaugh who talks about politics on the radio is I believe, partially deaf due to oxicotin abuse, it just goes to show that opiates are damaging mentally & physically to the human body & mind.
