Heavily addicted to Benadryl!!!!!

I've been heavily addicted to Benadryl for the past 4 years...I take an average of about 16-20 pills a night to help me sleep and also to get the euphoric feeling associated with it...when I stop taking it, it starts off with anxiety and depression and insomnia and on about the 3rd day begin to get very heavy nausea that gets worse every day after, I want to quit really bad but don't know how, is there anyone that can give some advice? Thank you...

I also agree with speaking with a Dr. You can also confide in someone you trust and make a commitment to taper off this amount. let them dole out the meds to you.. take less every night until you are down to a few then take the jump.. you will go through wd this is inevitable but believe me when I say the few weeks we feel terrible far our weights the years of feeling terrible.. Take this seriously. just because is is a over the counter med does not make it harmless.. seeing a Dr. would be in your best interest as is getting honest with those around you.. these are necessary steps to getting clean. I wish you well.. lesa

I agree with tramahater, you need to see a professional, you must detox from it...  its not healthy for your body to have that much...  you are capable of getting addicted to any type of meds...that is why you must be limited...  I would get off of it asap, because it could cause serious damage to your body and eventually your body systems could stop working...

The best to you!

Hi!  I really feel that you need to see a professional.  You are taking a dangerous amount of an antihistamine, and you could die.  I would talk with my doctor ASAP!

Good luck!
