Hello all I am new to group and I am now on methadone

I HAD A HUGE PROBLEM W/OC'S AND I WAS LOOSING ME LIFE ONE DAY AT A TIME. I HAVE HAD MANY BACK SURGEYS AND I AM IN A LOT OF PAIN AND THE METHADONE EVEN AT A LOW DOSE IS HELPING GREAT. NOW ALL I HAVE TO DO IS GET OFF XANAX SOMETHING I HAVE TO GET OFF. ANY HELP OR TIPS THANKS

i do know u can not ct xanax and is best to talk to ur doctor so he can help u taprr..good luck 2 u!

Hi...I just wanted to welcome you to the forum.I don't have any personal knowledge about xanax,lots of people here that do though.I do know that you are not supposed to quit any benzo cold turkey,you are supposed to taper off.Hang in there,it's a little slow here right now because of the holiday,but someone will come along soon who can help.In the meantime giving a little more info,like how long you've been taking the xanax and how much you take a day would help them to answer your questions about getting off of it.Keep posting.all the best...Kim
