Help, Im afraid to go off Neurontin.....

Now that I have gone off my pain meds, it feels like my nerontin dose is too high. I take 600 at 8am, 600 at 3 pm and 900 - 1200 before I go to bed. I took my normal does this morning and about an hour later, I fall into this stuporous sleep I can not wake myself from. Lasted for 3 hours. This falling asleep thing was happening alot last week sometimes after eating. It doesnt feel like normal sleep. I dont even remember falling asleep, I just wake up an hour or so later. Then there is severe dizziness when I stand. I hate this feeling.

I took 2 mgs. of Ambien last night to get to sleep. Is it possible it is a drug interaction?
I dont know what to think.
Does it seem like a bad idea to stop withdraw from yet another drug while Im still only 11 days into pain med withdraw. Yes the worst of the pain med withdraw is over, but anxety overwhelms me at times and pain is a constant.
I hear such horror stories about discontinuing Neurontin and the lasting side effects, not mention the threat of siezure. I was put on it, like many others, off label. They thought it would help with sleep issues, fibro and depression. The sleep poblems are the same and I cant tell if its helping my mind any. And of cours the fibro is ongoing managemnet of symptoms no matter what your taking.

I would check it with your doctor...I take both of those drugs but I  take 300 mg of nuerontin each evening so it is not really comparable to your dose...I am prescribed it 3xa day but had the sleepy thing as well...it wore off for me after a while and i do not have the drowsiness anymore...ambien comes in 5 mg and 10 mg tablets..I break a 5 mg in half and get the same effect as a whole one...do let your doctor know these problems and he may need to adjust your dose or look for an alternative if it is not working for you

Oh soory you are having this problem, I would definately contact your doctor rather be safe then sorry!

I know just alittle aboaut neurotin but that seems like a lot. I take ambien and neurotin and I have not had any of those problems... Maybe you should call you doctor and tell him what is going on.... dont want to take any chances.. Good Luck
