Help Im Addicted!!

I have been taking 3-4 10mg/325 oxcodone genric percocet tablets a day for pain for about 5 months now. I want to stop cold turkey. I was addicted 3 years ago to roxicodone taking like 20 30mg pills a day and I qiut cold turkey on those. Will my withdraw symptoms be the same??? How long will it take me to get off of the percocet??? And how long will I feel sick??? What are the symptoms??? I took only 1 tablet today. I have 1 left then Im out. I have another script for it but I dont want to fill it. I am sick of being ran by pills. I have a wonderful husband and 2 sweet daughters. They need me. Ive got to be strong again.

I also would like everyone to know that I am doing the tracker. It is visible to everyone. Why? Because I would love to show people that this can be done and what to expect in the sense that everyone is different but withdraws are usually the same. If I can help others than I sure will make it available to anyone.

In my opinion the worst aspects of withdrawal are the lack of energy and the depression but that will all subside in a few days (everybody's different).  I'm on day 2 of quitting cold turkey from a couple weeks of 120-200mg a day hydro and 20-40mg a day for a couple of months before that.  Everybody approaches it differently but (being someone who finds it impossible to slowly taper) I prefer the cold turkey method.  Immodium and ibuprofin work wonders for the runs and back pain.  Just know that there is hope and in a few days you'll be feeling good as new! =]

Of course I will. And to answer the other queation my mom has MS and some other issues so the doctor loads her up on everthinf from hydro to methadone you name it to help her with the pain.  I know in a years time my husband and I are moving out of state maybe even country because california not such a good place for us anymore. I just have to learn to say no to my mother.

Hi! I joined today also. I came across this page and just did it. I am ready for my recovery and would love to help you with yours. You have to realize that it is you that put that medicine in your mouth. It sounds mean. But not intended to be sweetie. Just as I have to do this for Me then my family. I have also been putting the medicine in my own mouth. I dont NEED the medicine. IT s not medicine anymore. ITs and addiction and it has to stop. Tomarrow will be my 1st day without any percocet. You just have to think the days WILL get better. you wont feel sick forever. I sent you a friend request. Wont you be my friend?

I think you're going to have to set some real boundaries with your mom.  I'm sure she's only trying to help but she needs to know this isn't the way.  I'm wondering why she has so many narcotics available to her??  I hope you'll look to some aftercare to help you with this.  This is a great forum for support, but you need something in real life, too!  And I think you'd be surprised if you told your husband.  He may be upset at first, and/or surprised, but I'm sure he'll want to help and support you.  Letting go of your secret will be a great weight lifted off you!

You guys are soo cool I should have joined this site when I first came across it a few monts back. I haven't been able to tell anybody about my problem. But you all seem to understand. My mother who convinced me to try them in the first place is worse than a drug dealer. She is always calling me to see if I am feeling okay and has them on hand if I run out. I think that is my biggest problem knowing I can always get them. Darn my mother.

Yes I can!!!  I just have to send my hubby out to get my gatorade. I am ready for my walks and crackers and dry cereal. I will lose the weight I gained and my family will be proud of me. My husband who I need desperatly is going to support me the best that he can. My teen daughter has been through this wiht me once before. She doesnt think bably about her mother. Thank God!!!!  I just have to keep thinking that this will be all over soon.

That's right. You can do it!!! Seriously, I would just try and get through one hour. I had my Gatorade with me at all times. The mental part will kick in after the physical but we are stringer than a pill. Our brains need us to pop and we get to say, just for today, I choose ME:)

Yes, you have to be ready. It's totally doable and there are plenty of OTC remedies you can take to help with the WD. The first step is putting down the drugs, then design with the WD, then comes aftercare.
Take it one hour at a time. Before you know it, hours turn into days!

Well I just took my last one and gave my new perscription that needs to be filled to my wonderful husband. I explained to him that  I am done. So let the sickness begin. I have God to help me. He did last time on something much stronger. As as to being alone. Sweetie your not alone. It is very scary to go through the withdraw symptoms but you will get through them and then you done and feeling 100% better about everything. I didnt abuse my meds but I feel myself slipping. Its time to stop. If you need me just keep replying and I will help you the best that I can. We can do it together :) Thats if you are ready. You have to be ready.

I know how you feel. I just joined this site today. I take hydro not the same but still addicted. I have been wanting to stop but am scared of the withdraws and how it will interfere with my family because the pills really help with my migranes and stress.  I know this didn't answer you question but I just wanted to tell you that I myself am glad I am not alone
