Help Needed For Oxycontin and Loritab Withdrawals

I am about two days shy of having to start detoxing from Oxycontin and Loritab. I have been in a pain management program for 4 years. I have taken 20 mg Oxycontin three times a day and also 10 mg Loritab three times a day. I received a letter last week where they informed me they were dismissing me from the
program. Well that left me with what medications I had left in my bottles to try to wean myself off of them. Now is the time and I am really scared of what is going to happen, I don't think it will be good.
I am sure that a lot of you are figuring that I had abused the program, that is why they dismissed me but honestly this is what happened. They said that they found Morphine in my urinalysis that they took back in October. The ironic part to this is when I first started my pain management they tried Morphine and had a terrible allergic reaction to it so they took me off it fast but apparently forgot to note that in my file, but I do have an appeal on the case but that is not going to help me tomorrow.
I am almost 52 years old, I have been fighting Lung Cancer for two years, I have Osteoarthritis and Degenerative Arthritis. I also suffer from COPD. These are the things that I am scared to death will kill me while I go cold turkey from these medications.
If anyone has any ideas that I can use to help me deal with all these symptoms that I have read about that I will have to go through please let me know.
I Ned all the help that I can get.

Good Lord!!   This is terrible for you!

Do you have a family doctor? PCP? Call first thing in the morning. I don't know what your pain level is right now but at the very least you need help getting off these meds, if that's the decision.  I don't think it should be!  Shame on that clinic!  Did they repeat the UA?

Make calls in the morning and keep in touch...this is no way to detox off of meds and you have my support.

Hold on....it's a bumpy ride, but everyone gets to the other side.  I was taking methadone and Norco so mine was a little different.  I've read about what you are taking, and most people are done with the really bad part in about a month.  My advice would be to use this little set back to get a new life off of the opiates.  Things happen for a reason.  Maybe it's time.  Think about it.  Read the posts on here.  Maybe you will find resolve to try something new.
I did.  Best of luck.

First of all-I am sorry for your suffering.  Second of all-you have come to the right place for support.  Please look up the Thomas Recipe in the health pages it really helps.  It sounds like your dosage was pretty steady and not that high-I just detoxed off of 100 mg of oxycontin a day + 10-30 mg of dialaudid for breakthrough that I had been prescribed for multiple chronic illness and pain issues.  It's been two weeks for me and it's been rough but I feel better every day.  You just have to be okay with not being okay.  I would try to get another doctor-because of all your health issues you should be kept comfortable with medicines to help with detox like clonidine (BP medication commonly used in detox from opiates)  PLEASE don't do this without medical support-your life is too important.  I'm in Canada so I don't understand the whole being dismissed from your pain clinic thing as we don't do that here.  It is your right to have proper medical care.  Do you have support at home or someone that can advocate for you?  I am very concerned for you-there are a lot more knowledgeable people than me on this site that I'm sure will come along and give you better advice.  Keep posting and try not to stress-sending support....Lu
