Help for 22yr male

by gennie8888, Aug 08, 2008 08:05AM
My boyfriend's son is prescribed psychiatric medication but sells half and od's the remainder...He is consumed with the tragic death of his Mom and and loss of his step Mom....Good kid in real life (lives with Father)...Hostile when under the influence.  The Doctor does not recognized the abuse of his prescription.  What are the steps for recovery....I am way out of my league here.  Both myself and his Father could be best described as " Recovering Enablers"...We will no longer prolong his recovery.  Any suggestions? Gennie

Wow Gennie I'm sorry too read of his targic looses at such a young age.. Welcome to the forum. He really needs grief counseling or counseling period taking his meds the way he does is not helping with the mood swings.. Is there anyway his father could talk to the Dr. and clue him in on the abuse of the med.. The Dr. can dole them out every few days or daily if need be.. I wish you well keep reading as you will find a lot of information here.. lesa
