Help needed for meth withdrawal

Help needed for meth withdrawal

I am a heavy daily user of Methamphetamine (MA) and I want to stop using. A few years ago I found that an injection of Flumazenil (2mg), once daily over a period of two days, helped remove my withdrawal symptoms entirely. I was able to stay clean for 8 months and still manage all of my responsibilities (i.e. keep my job). I have since relapsed and I am currently using >1gram of MA a day. The original source of my first treatment is no longer an option, and I am having a hard time finding someone to do this for me. I have gone to see two doctors so far and neither visit was helpful on any level. Does anyone know how I can find a doctor who will administer Flumazenil to me or at least write a prescription for it?

Wow. Thats really interesting that you were treated with Flumazenil. I had  never heard of this medication being used for anything other than reversing benzodiazapine overdoses. Much the same way narcan is administered to reverse opioid overdoses.

I wish i could help with reference to a doctor to prescribe this drug for you. I m afraid i have no idea whatsoever about how one would go about sourcing a legitamate Rx of this medication.

Anyway. I just wanted to comment about this novel approach to Methamphetamine addiction. Here in NZ the methadone services have been trialing Methylphenidate(Ritalin) in a double blind study in an attempt to stabilise people addicted to Methamphetamines. This is still in the early phase but initial indications look positive.

All the best. Kind Regards Jeremy.

Probably a good reason it's no longer there

Actually, the original source of my first treatment is still in business. However, at a cost of $15,000 for initial treatment and $4,000 for any "booster" treatments, it is not really an option for most of people who need it. Including me now.

i do not know if you are still trying to stop with an aide but my frind has tried with adderall (adderrall) and suboxone or whatever it is called and this ruined his ability to get a high while on it which is a good thing and did help him to stop mostly even when he relapsed but he was pissed he didnt get high b ut that was the point to stop and i dont know if that helps. i never used any aide they were not an option for me at all bc of cost and drs always treat addicts like ****{my experince anyhow} but it would have been nice in the beginning when your hit with the intense stuff. i wish you all the luck! been sober from meth since 2005 so it is possible!

Could someone explain to me the difference in Ritalin (methylphenidate) vs. Methamphetamines? I thought they were the same pretty much.
