Help:3 1/2 Months on Methadone

I have been on Methadone for 31/2 months. I am  up to 85mgs per day. I want to get OFF of Everything for good! So I thought it would be smart to go to a Methadone clinic. Well the Methadone HAS helped me tremendously with not wanting Opiates...BUT now I cant GET off the Methadone..If I don't dose then I can't get out of Bed,,,,I am DEPRESSED,,,,,I Cry all day! Should I do it the right way and come off Methadone slowly? If so, What kind of with drawls can I expect? Like I said I have only been on it for 3 1/2 months....

I too don't have any experience with methadone but one thing we all have in common is addiction. There's a member on here by the name of "gnarly1" and he is the forum expert when it comes to methadone. He is normally online later in the evening.

I'm guessing he will say to taper off slowly. I've heard that withdrawals from methadone are some of the toughest withdrawals out there but hopefully since you haven't been on it all that long it won't be quite as bad.

I've detoxed from vicodin and oxycontin so can offer some advice on what can help with the withdrawals. I know how hard it can be to come off of an addictive substance. Moral support is huge so if you need anything, just ask.

Hang tight and you will get some advice from members with more experience with methadone.

You are soo welcome and athough we are on different meds mine is hydro....if you need someone to talk to I am here with an open ear or a phone screen I should say lol.....

Hi kdjakson1....welcome to the forum....I am sorry but I don't have experience with methadone...but it loods like you haven't been on it too long...and that is a good thing
