Here we go!

Okay woke up not too bad yet. Been having withdrawal almost all week anyway on this sort of taper thing....today is the first day with nothing. Day one!! I took only 10mg of hydro and managed to deal with the ups and downs if the day. Today should be fine. I'm a little sniffly with a rumbly tumbly but I'm praying today goes fine. Getting ready for work today and then off all weekend and Monday. No remaining pills and I'm scared but happy?!? I flushed everything last night and fell into bed at 9pm after a long day of work and running two kids around to ball games. My mom is supposed to pick up the kids tonight and I'm thinking a lot of this is mental. Trying to stay positive. I think it's easier somehow without the last few pills waiting. Thanks for all the advice and keep it coming!! I'll check in today as I can and will be on here all weekend I'm sure. Please send good thoughts and prayers!

Thank you all!! I feel amazingly blessed to have such cheerleaders. I'm sleepy as day one is winding down. And sweaty. And poopy. Lol. That's to be expected. I'm doing well so far. Tomorrow marks a new day and I'm kind if determined to busy my way through this. If I'm down a little tomorrow and Sunday there will be ups too and I will make myself get out even during acute detox if it's even that acute so that I'm used to seeing the world through sober eyes by Monday. I know that raw anxious feeling and I would rather face it sooner than later!! Today I was too groggy and foggy to have it but I know it's coming. I'm gonna keep up the fight. No way past it but through it!

Hi there, well it certainly sounds like you are ready! You have a great plan, and an even greater attitude. Trust me, attitude and determination is everything.  Keep yourself as active as possible. Get yourself outside in the fresh air. Take even some short walks. It will help tremendously. Epsom Salt baths will help as well.  Stay strong, focused, and keep moving forward. Keep posting and let us know how you are doing. I wish you all the best!

Just joining your cheering section here!!  You have some beautiful things awaiting you on the other side so just keep surrendering to the process and keep that positive attitude and you will be AWESOME!
I loved detox.
That's right, I said it I LOVED DETOX!
I loved getting myself back because I thought I'd lost her for good.
I'll be around all weekend if you need anything...

You sound great! Just keep up that Positive attitude and know that we need Support. This is a Disease and just like others it needs some attending too. Hit all the meetings you can and even AA. There are all kinds of support groups out there..Even the Churches offer some great things.
My Hats off to you as you are well on your way..Ya!!!!

Thank you Lady!! I most definitely build it up in my head. I was just really down and beating myself up the last week but I've come off a much higher and longer habit with so much determination and pulled my life back together. I slipped up when the pressures of life got too great and relapsed after much clean time. This is a blip in the radar and time to pick myself back up and find that determination again. This too shall pas and I have made a much bigger mess of my life before. I'm determined to treat this as a lesson and the flu and move on more focused on my recovery and start a new job and take some huge exams coming up that will begin a new life for me without this monkey on my back!

So far so good on day one. It was busy at work so i really think that helped. I have a trusted friend coming to help me through the weekend and may be off Monday too but honestly the more I'm out and busy and outside my head it helps. So far every tub has been manageable but the mental part always gets me so I'm hoping to look at it like the flu and just try to make myself get back into my routine of work etc Monday. Going to eat a good meal tonight and I have everything for protein shakes and banana smoothies in case it's horrible. I'm thinking it won't be. Already have a couple errands planned tomorrow so I don't just sit here and think about it. I believe that's a huge part of the battle. I know Monday morning I will likely be freaking out until I actually get to work. Once I'm there I'm fine. The head games!! Making yourself do something is so hard when you are feeling like poo but never fails to help. Everyone please remind me if this as Monday approaches!! Thank you for all the kind words. It has really touched me. I will likely over post at times this weekend so please bear with me! You guys are amazing.

I think your definatly on the right course of action. Good job getting your mom to come pick up the kids for the weekend, that will allow u to focus on you! Just lay back, go through it, and when u come out on the other end, be proud of yourself!

I'm sure you've heard this before but we build up the wD worse in our head than it actually is. Look at like needig to take a few days downtime from the flu. Immodium in a little higher dose will help ur tummy. Bananas bananas bananas. Stay hydrated. And rest. Did I say bananas? Lol they will keep u fed and help your legs. Keep posting!
