Heroin Users-Question

by Joni2983, May 28, 2009 06:40AM
Recently, I kicked my live in boyfriend out of my house when I discovered he relapsed again on heroin.  About a week after I kicked him out my neighbor let me know that someone had stolen her boyfriends moutain bike out of our shared garage.  My instant thought was my ex boyfriend did this to feed his addiction.  He has been laid off work for 6 months and was running out of money.  At the time, I was paying all of the bills.  Are my thoughts correct?  This has to be in all time low for his drug using ***.  Please let me know your thoughts.  Thank you!

Most addicts will do almost anything to get a fix....this could be the case here but why not just ask him.  Also, is he collecting unemployment?  Doesn't he have to apply for new positions to keep receiving unemployment?

New area for me...

I agree with florida,  you should confront him but don't be surprised by any response you get.  Most addicts really will do anything to get their drug.  stealing a bike is mild compared to some stories..

Hi Joni.. more then likely if between you your bf and neighbor are the only ones with access (access)  is not always required probably.. at one point I was stealing meat from the stores and trading for dope.. asking you could do but would probably be lied to but you would be able to tell.. the 600 dollars he drew out will not have lasted him very long.. he is shooting it and we get addicted to the rig as well.. I hope this is not the case as I know you have gone through much with him.. I would suggest taking jewelry and small valuables to a safety deposit box in a bank as he is use to having things supplied for him.. this freed up his money for drugs. and we run out of that quickly.. having to come up with money everyday..take care and feel free to contact me anytime.. I'm wishing you the very best.. lesa
