Heroin use

Hello everybody. Well, I have used heroin for about 12 days now, on and off. Mostly on.  I would say i am using anywhere from 2 bags to 5 bags a day. they are 10$ bags, i'm not sure about the weight of the product, but its usually enough to get high once. (one bag)  Now , i will be discontinuing the use of heroin because I want to throw away all of my addictions and start my life fresh and sober... I was wondering how terrible the withdraws will be from using heroin to close to 2 weeks. Does anybody think i should try to taper off, or have i been using for a short enough period of time that would allow me to quit cold turkey without experience horrible withdraws?

Hey Scott, I too would like to congratulate you on the baby! As you said, now is a perfect time to stop using!!

Your use was minimal, 12 days isn't too bad, but you are going to go through withdrawals. When you kicked your opiate habit, did you have WDs? That is what you should expect from the herion wds.   You kicked opiates so you know you can kick this!

Hi Scott, Welcome to the forum.

You really do have a great opportunity here.

If you had been on H for much longer, this would have been so much harder.

But after two weeks it really shouldn't be too hard, so you should definitely go for it!
I'm not saying it'll be a breeze, but you wont find a better time to quit.

Yeah, thanks for the support and feedback. I have a problem with opiates and i find that i like them a lot. first was vicodin, then oxycodone, and then .... you get my point. Sadly you get more bang for your buck with heroin, and that's why i decided to try it out. I don't really like the high as much as i liked other opiates, it feels much more dirty and disgusting. For this reason , i believe it wont be that difficult to kick. It is rather cheap, however, i have much more ahead of me to worry about and think about besides getting high. Aftercare may be beneficial considering i do enjoy opiates. I will stop this all together and see where it goes. I believe i can do it and i have as you said... a very inspiring reason to quit. I will stay around the forums and ill keep you posted. Thanks for the concern and thank you for congratulating me. I appreciate the fact that i can come to a medical forum and get info and support from complete strangers.

Congratulations on the babe :) what a inspiring reason to quit..you still may want to check out some kind of after care for there is a reason you started in the first place.. it could be a addiction specialist priest Dr. therapist our aa/na just getting the support you need will help to insure you give your family a good life.. I'm Happy for you and Proud that you are putting your family above your addiction... Hope you stay around for the forum is also a great support :)

Thanks for the info, I chose to kick heroin because this week i had found out that my girlfriend is pregnant. Now, i hadn't been using at the time she could have became pregnant ... thank god.... I started using about a week after i had slept with her. I'm not too sure if me using would have effected that in any way , but i'm glad i wasn't anyways. However, I have an amazing girlfriend, and soon an amazing son/daughter. I do not want this to become a cruel addiction or a problem that would effect my income  or relationship with my family. Now is the time to quit, and that i will do.

Hi sjbx2006x, Welcome to the forum.. Sorry to say you will go through wd  But it will not be so bad.. Yo will feel uncomfortable for sure you  will feel creaky but nothing you can not handle.. Hot showers/baths will help.. You are very wise to get off it in such a short time. I do not know what made you stop in such a short time but Bravo that you are.. Drop friends that use Delete numbers of your connections. you may think about NA our AA because although we want to quit the feeling of the drug is hard to forget.. Congratulations on taking your life back Because Heroin will lead you to misery our death.. lesa

I would like to add that i am not injecting the drug. my method of use has been snorting always.
