How do I get Suboxone?

I'm seventeen and I have been addicted to painkillers for about 7 months. I'd been taking them before that for about a year but it wasn't a serious problem until about seven months ago. I'm trying to quit now but its so hard and i feel like I'm agrivating all my friends with complaining about the uncomfortablness and anxiety of this process. But they don't understand beccause they haven't had to go through it. So i was wondering if any one knows how a seventeen year old can get suboxone without having their parents know? I cannot tell my parents about this problem...they would probably disown me. I could most likely come up with enough money to see someone and i know where to go but would they allow it if i am this young and my parents dont know? HELPPPP!

hey guys... tomorrow will be day three of no pills. i'm feeling alot better. i still feel some antsy-ness and restlessness and some cravings. mostly because theres not much to keep busy with in my town.. but i feel alot better! this is such a good thing to do. i've taken some xanax to help with anxiety and so i can sleep some during the day because sleeping through the night is a b*tch. but thats all getting better. i took half a methadone two days agothat my friend had to help with the withdrawals, but i dont think that set me back at all because i dont crave that and i dont have access to anymore. so all in all, I'M HAPPY ABOUT THIS! YAY. reading all the posts on here has definately helped alot, its the best thing in the world to know youre not alone. hopefully in a few more days i'll be completely out of the woods, and i'll be able to help the many other people who have to deal with this sh** too. THANK YOU ALL

i don't think it would be as bad especially if you were still going through withdrawls. it would ease it up a bit and then you would still be going through it.

if you had no withdrawl symptoms at all and took it once, it is not a good idea. there are these little bridges that your brain makes for the drug and you would be waking them up.
you most likely would not go into withdrawl again, but the mental cravings would be there. and most cave. and want to take again..........and again.....

if someone were to complete withdrawals, and then they used again one time, would they go into withrdrawal again after the fix wore off? how does this work? after a few weeks of not taking pills, is it likely that if someone were to use again, they would become dependent again quite quickly? CURIOUS!~

btw, I wasnt trying to minimize your WD symptoms, I hope you didnt take it the wrong way and insinuate that your suffering would be a piece a cake. Hopefully you know what I meant cuz Im getting lazy here and about to sign off and cant type up a huge explanation, lol

thank you guys. i know its much worse for alot of people. its just hard to put it into perspective when its happening to you, you know?. but i'm seeing that i can really do this, i just have to get over feeling uncomfortable and unhappy for a little bit. it seems pretty damn worth it though. i'd rather be this way for a few days than be conflicted and depressed for the rest of my life.

hang in there. it sounds like you are doing the right thing. the 1 pill a day is helping your body to adjust. tappering down, like you are doing is the best way to not get the really, really bad withdrawls. keep it up for maybe another week and then go down to half or just nothing. it will not be that bad. believe me and others on here. it gets a lot worse than what you are feeling now the longer down the road you go addicted.

and forget the suboxone. it is for hardcore years of addiction as a last resort. it is very risky to take and not fool-proof.

i have to agree with curler........i would definitely NOT go the SUb route....youre so young.......only 17 and only been on the pills 7 months.  First off, Sub is VERY expensive, secondly you dont want to stay on Sub the rest of your life do you? I doubt that! So if you start sub (which im not sure you could legally obtain anyways being a minor and all), you will eventually have to stop the Sub too, and guess what...you have WD's from that too.  There is just no way around the WD's, hon.  At some point you are going to have suffer it out no matter what. Its inevitable. So with only being addicted for 7 months, you really shouldnt be that bad off with the WD's .  Many of us here have been taking opiates for many, many YEARS. 7 months is a short amount of time in the grand scheme of things.
If I were you, I would just CT off the pills right now and just get on with it. Git R Done... Yes, it suckks, oh yes it suckks bad but the severe part only lasts 3 or 4 days and since youre so young, it probably wont be as bad on you as it is on some of us old fogies who have arthritis and aching bad bodies to start with. I think you could recover quite quickly on your own, honestly.  Just pretend like you have a bad flu for a few days, suffer it out and move on with your life. Youre starting college soon, right? This is perfect time to quit the pills and recover in time before school starts.. You can do this, you really can. Stick around this site, you will find so much great support and friends here.

First of all you won't die, not for 60 or 70 years anyhow... Exercise if you can, even walking will make you feel better. The first 3-4 days are the worse then it gets better, if you have a hot tub great if not hot baths and showers. There is no easy way, but you can do it if your ready. Use this site for support. Good Luke. Remember you want your life back...

Thanks for your advice, same for everyone. It ***** that i have to be in this situation at a time in my life when i'm about to be leaving for college and everything is going to change. I just want to be finished with this so i can have some FUN AGAIN AND NOT THINK ABOUT THIS HORRIBLE **** ALL DAY! I've been trying really hard to just stop, i started taking only about 1 percoset throughout the whole day (down from a whole lot more and slews of other pain meds if i could find them) and i've been doing that for about 4 days now, but the withdrawal symptoms are still there. That is why i even bother with the one pill, so i dont go crazy from the agony of withdrawal. It helps slightly for about an hour but then i just feel like death again. But i think that is just prolonging the process of withdrawing. I dont want to take any but i am really scared about it and it just seems like i've already been in pain for a long time and the next week is quite daunting. What are some good things to do so i dont go crazy during WD with the achiness and feeling that i'm trapped and crying all the time?!?

At 17 and only a 7 month addiction, I would go c/t but you may have to get away from your friends if they use. I was on sub 13 months it very costly between Dr visit once a month and the sub bout 400 a month and you have to be commited for the long haul. I have 3 kids 23,21,and 16 I deff would not disown them I would love them all the way and id say the same bout yours and you have to have a good support system in place and cant think of better one than the 2 people who will always love you even  after you a teenage with a head full of mush no ofence but i was 17 once and my head was full of mush, have said and done things to them you really never meant and they still and always will love you!!! Talk too your mom dad or both ok!! They wont disown but will fall all over you with love and belive me they know your into stuff you shouldnt be WE ALWAYS KNOW because we did the same stupid stuff!!!

Look, forget about Suboxone, you don't need it, its poison and only good for short term taper and then you still will have WDS. Quit cold turkey, is it hard Yes, can you do it Yes! Your friends can't understand how tough it is, and won't. The friends on this site though do understand so get your support here. Sub is not the answer, quitting is. Not easy but you can do it, there is no easy out. You want your life back, don't you! then get to work. we're here for you.  Good Luck

HI- and welcome.  I believe you have to be at least 18 to get suboxone from a doctor legally.. go to the suboxone official website and read about it..
You may be surprised, your parents may be willing to help you, I know I surely would not want my children to be hurting and not able to come talk to me about it..
I hope everything works out, keep a positive attitiude.. and keep posting.

ugh- tricky situation. My advice would be to call the substance abuse hotline (look up the national number) and they can lead you in the right direction- they gave me numbers of suboxone clinics that would accept my insurance. Now the trick was- none of the clinics had openings (was at least a 2 week wait) and from my understanding (i don;t know from personal experience) suboxone is ridiculous (cost wise) to get without insurance - Do you have your own insur. card or something so that maybe you could go and your 'rents wouldn't find out?
Because of the clinic wait time I ended up buying mine off the street anyways. Goodluck to you...
