How long after WDs is it safe for pain meds with no WDs??

I've burned all necessary bridges, minus my Dr. I'm curious about how long someone needs to go without opiates and go through WDs before it is safe to take a dose - without having to redo WDs??

Example - before I get my next script filled, it will be 3 weeks since my last dose. That will be 21 days without. Now, say I need some relief a week later, will it be safe to take a dose without going into WDs? I'm talking like 2-3 pills in one day.

The pills will be out of reach, so I can't fall back into the same hole. However, I don't want to be in pain if it isn't necessary, but don't want to have WDs because I took a couple too early after going CT.

Any ideas?

As far as taking your meds again after 21 days, you'll be just fine. But you do know that 1 probably won't put a dent in your pain if you were doing what I think you were with your meds before. Please feel free to email me directly and perhaps you could feel more at ease to tell what's really going on. I can tell you that I know quite a lot about opiate addiction, withdrawal, treatment, and recovery maintenance. I will definitely be straight up with you. ***@****.

Try taking an advil or 2 first and see if that helps. The answer to your question depends really on your situation and what meds you need to take. My question to you is why would you take a pill after 21 days clean? What is causing the pain? Have you tried alternatives to relieve the pain?

It's a dark road to begin with and since you have already had a problem before....

I hear though that after about 30days you are almost normal... I dunno about the withdawal thing but I would imagine that after 21 days, will you be able to take one tablet and it will be effective?  We spent years building a tolerance to the stuff.  I don't know if 21 days is enough time.

It's neck pain due to herniated and bulging discs. Luckily the pain isn't constant, but when the disc his the cord and the muscles clamp down, it's horribly painfull. Unfortunately, one months perscription is gone in a bit over 1 week. I was able to keep my body happy from other locals, but I burned the bridges so that I can try to keep things under control. Today is day 5, and so far, so good. However, when I've gone through WDs in the past (more to lower tolerance then anything else), I never made it far before a flare up.

Since I've burned my bridges, I will have to wait 3 weeks for the next script (I refuse to buy from the internet). I have plenty of muscle relaxers, and enough Neproxin & Asprin to kill a horse - however, I can take 5 of each, and it doesn't help at all. Pain meds don't even kill the pain, but they make it bearable.

Basically, I'm over due for a flare up. Average is twice a week (again, so far I've been luck for 5 days :) ). I just wanted to know if once I get the script (it will be where I can't get to it), if it will be safe to take /any/ that soon after going through WDs.

As for me stating taking 2-3 pills, that wasn't meant "at once". That would be 1 every 8 hours, give or take.
