How long do the last remaining withdrawal symptoms last?

My question is about the length or duration of the last of the withdrawal symptoms from percocet.  I am into week four of no percoset ( went through a rapid detox program three weeks ago) and I still have chills, muscle tension, a little ringing in the years, and some general spaceiness.  I know everybody is different, but if I could get some idea of what to expect, I would appreciate it.  I was on oxycontin for pain for about five years, then switched to percoset to try and step down to one tab, and I was able to quit, but took up taking percoset again in about a months time.  that was 18 months ago, and now I am dealing with the remaining symptoms after quitting.

I took ambien 5 mg from day 4-10 and I would drop the ambien. It has it's own set of problems.I felt alot more anxiety during the day because of it and have read horror stories from people who were taking it regularly for a long time.I don't think we should regularly take something that is going to interfere with our natural sleep cycle when quitting opiates, unless it's once in a while or in emergency.

Hi - Sorry to hear about the ambien.  How did it make you feel worse?  More sleepy?

On the Clonidine.  It can make you sleepy.  I break the pill in half and that is a better dose for me.  I hope your symptoms continue to diminish.

If the muscle relaxant makes you feel worse, maybe you shouldnt take it or cut the pill in half.  Good luck.  Hang in there - you are doing great.

Hi

Thanks for your reply.  Right now my insurance is balking at paying out for any more doctor visits, even though there is supposedly not a limit, so I am holding off going to see the pain/addiction specialist unless I absolutely have to.  I took clonodine when I stepped down before and it caused my blood pressure and energy to drop, so I am holding off on that as well.  Thanks for the heads up about the general spaciness, it is better, just have that lightheaded feeling lingering on...muscle tension has improved over the past two days, ringing in the ears is a little worse after taking the muscle relaxant.  Again, thanks for your reply.

Hi

Thanks for your reply.  My apetite has improved along with my general digestion and I am eating fine.  I just don't feel like exercising, should make myself.  By the way, I took ambien for sleep and it seems to have made me a little worse, I wonder if any one else has had this experience?  I am also taking a muscle relaxant (took a couple yesterday) and today I spent the morning in bed, really felt like sh__.  Hearing from you has perked me up, so thanks again for the reply.

Most people are over the chills, muscle tensions and the ringing in the ears by now.  The spaciness can last a little longer.  I find that I spill things, run into walls and my equilibrium is just not right.

Can you get some Clonidine?  It will help with all the physical withdrawal symptoms.  Rehab centers and addiction specialists prescribe it for opiate withdrawal.  It is non addictive as it is a blood pressure medication.  I took it and it works.
