How long does Vicodin stay in your system?

Ok, ready to do it.  Did pretty good on the taper but not consistent, only 1-7.5/750 on each weekend day and a little more through the week this week.

My question now is how long will Vicoden stay in my sytem before it is completely out of it?

i had a liver biopsy  yrs ago and the nurse asked if i was using narcotic pain meds, i told her yes and she said i had to stop 72 hours before the procedure because thay had to be out of my system. i dont know how long i"d been on them and i"m sure i was taking way more then prescribed but she didnt ask,,just said stop 72 hours before. if its a drug test question then i:d go with what beach said and make it closer to 7 days to be safe.

Thanks for your responses.. Starting day one without any today, will have to see how it goes.  It has been a long time since I have went 72 hours but that is my first small goal, should be able to do it.  Through my tapering of the last two weeks I discovered that I felt better without as many pills that I was taking.. ****, busy day ahead, should help keep my mind from thinking of the pills..

theres no such thing as a 500mg Vicodin

ACTUALLY lol just so you know. There IS a such thing as 500MG Vicodin  Its called Hydrocodone...WHICH my pharmacist has told me IS Vicodin its just the fancy name for it :) gotta have the right facts if your trying to help someone out hunny! :)

actyually just so YOU know... there is NO such thing as a 500mg hydro!!!!!  there is a 5mg hydro with 500apap. BUT NO 500MG HYDROCODONE. Hunny!  Maybe you check your facts BEFORE you post!

Definitely not. Their is not a Vicodin pill with 500mg of hydrocodon to my knowledge over 120mg is known to be hepatoxic to the FDA, 500mg of hydrocodon would be the equivilant to taking 100 of the 5mg hydro 500 APAP.

You're probably thinking about the 5/500? The 5 stands for 5mg of hydrocodone and the 500 is for 500mg of acetaminophine.

That would me my guess as well, it is easy to become confused in the early stages of learning about these drugs.
