How long does this take?

  I started taking pain meds about a year and a half ago.  I've been diagnosed with endomitriosis, along with excesive scar tissue from multiple abdominal surgeries.  They started me off with lorcet, and kicked me up to percocet 10/650 about 8 months ago.  I've felt withdraw symptoms for a while now, but I was waiting for another surgery.  I'm 4 weeks post op now, and finally said I can't live pill to pill anymore.  My question is how long does this take?  I started taking 1 less everyday, and now i'm down to 1 today, and tomorrow it will be none.  How long will I feel the withdraw symptoms?  I feel like i'm coming out of my skin.  I can't sleep, I don't want to ever feel like this again.

I agree with worried878, you shouldn't have to go that long before you start feeling better because you've tapored so nicely.  Hang in there.

I too was diagnosed with endometriosis (this is what started my addiction).  I too had multiple abdominal surgeries leading to scar tissue.  My third surgery was to get rid of all the scar tissue and man oh man did I still hurt  weeks after I stopped the pain pills.

This was years ago.  I decided that I would start walking and then running until the pain went away..... and finally, the pain subsided and I never again had a problem with my Endometriosis and abdominal pain.  My addiction however! Lingered for years.

I withdrew from 80 mg of hydros and it took about 4 days ...of course mentally it takes a bit longer as far as the fatigue and depression go as they can linger for a while..everyone is different..i felt the worst on day 1 with each day i felt better and felt preety good day 4 and even better day 5...have u read thru the health pages and gotten the vitamin recipes and stuff to help you?
