How much longer WD for SUB or back to the Dr. for a refill ?

by slapperman, Jan 18, 2009 10:47PM
I know, I know (not really) I just want to be confirmed before I go to the Dr. (been ob SUB for 2 1/2 months)
the truth is on my own after developing the hate of sight, smell, and taste I decided to start cutting back in a 2 week period 1st week went from 16 mg a day to 8 and 4 depending, 2nd week 4 and 2. after that crumbs for a couple days then WD. Its more like 6 or 7 days with no SUB WD a little better I think. If I ride this out how much longer. If I go back to SUB and crumb it how much longer. In other words am I just fooling myself by not giving in to the WD and do it the correctly or can I ruff it out and make it so i can get this part over with. I hate the pills that I took and feel like in the name of relief i am just swapping problems.

In my opinion I would just try and ride it out at this point although you may have some more days of w/d you really should be through the worst of the physical part. Its hard for me to say how much longer your w/d's will last because I had tapered down to a lower dose but I was also on sub for 18wks, so its hard to compare. It really boils down to your own determination of what your willing to do to get clean. I know its sounds redundant but the detox period really is easier than the staying clean part of recovery. If you do choose to ride this out just try to be as positive as possible about the process. I know how hard it is but if your truely committed to getting clean you can get through these rough times. Stay strong, it really is mind over matter, you can do this! Best of luck to you, keep posting regardless of what your decision is. Take care!

Welcome..If you have made it 6 or 7 days w/o anything why start back? you are over the worst part already, you should be feeling better every day ...if you start back on suboxone you will have to just start over again....now you need to think about aftercare. look into na in your area., stay with us, we are here to support you..take care and remember one day at a time...you can do this, I believe in you...

You are past the roughest part (for me it would have been Days 3-7. The physical withdrawal acute pain should begin to subside.  If you made it this far I would stick it out.  The longer you are on Subs the harder it will be to get off them and some people say the longer or more prolonged the PAWS will be
