How to get prescriptions filed?

Hi I am taking 40mg oxy' s and they need to be adjusted by my doctor as tolerance has gone up again...what a supirise right?


Anyhow, I got a prescription for like 7 tabs to hold me until my appointment on next tuesday.....the problem is last time I went to the pharmacy they gave me a bunch of **** and a really hard time to get my script filled??

I guess I was in their system and because I had a refill not do until the 22nd of this month for same meds. Not only would insurance not cover it but because its oxy's they almost didnt fill it.

I dont want to go through that again.....I thought if the doctor wrote the scipt and its legit, isnt that all the pharmacy needs?

Is their a way to avoid by paying cash? I dont plan on doing this often so I just want to get these additional 7 tab script filled without going through hell and being ridiculed like that? Should I go to a different pharmacy or something?

was the script from your usual doctor if not the pharmacy probably thinks you are"doctor shopping" going to different doctors so you can get pills if it was from your regular doctor than the insurance part is probably the problem insurance companies will only pay for i script per month on any type of scheduled drug because of all the abuse with them

Thanks for the reply! I was ablr to get it refilled for 7 more tabs. I now have 8 tabs to last me until Tuesday.....today is Sunday.....I have 40mg tabs bt I almost need 80mg to stop the pain...I just had surgery like a month ago...

Can anyone offer advise on how to make these 8 40mg tabs last until tuedsay morning? Without me going to WD's? I dont think I can handle oth the suregery pain, my lower back pain, and then the WD's from oxy....I think that is how people die from trying to go cold turkey...there bodies are too weak.....

Anyhow if anyone has ANY suggestion on what I can do please let me know.

Almost forgot, I do have a bunch of darvocet N-100 but they dont seem to help..can I mix that with oxy or is there something better?

Have you checked out the pain management forum it sounds like you are a pm paniet then someone looking to get off of there meds ..

I agree with avisg.  This forum is for people who are trying to get off of their pain meds so you may find more help on the chronic pain/pain management forums.  Good luck to you.
