Hydro w/d

If you go CT from hydro 10/325 & 7.5, 10-15 a day, does it  take longer for the restless legs & arms to stop, also the insomnia. This is what caused me to start taking them again, I could not handle, was scared I would have a heart attack from no sleep and the constant restless legs and arms!!! Please pray for me and my family. thank you.

ask your Dr. about clonodine..I have heard that it helps alot with some w/d symptoms..it's a blood pressure med ..also if you could get a rx for a weeks worth of Valium..that will also help..ither than that..nutrition/tons of water/a good mind set..will all benefit you..You will be ok..and get through this..i am gald you made a decision..'many of us can't taper because it takes so much will power which addicts generally don't have,,..I also have some good info in my journal..it's not just for people on methadone..check it out..it may gave you a better understanding of what the drugs have done to your brain chemistry as well as the rest of you...

I don't think I have enough will power to taper. I have tried it when I only had 7.5's left, and took 5 at a time, but this was only for 1-2 days and the WD's after that were just as bad. I think I will have to go CT and use all the good info. I've gotten from everyone here, plus the vitamins (I haven't looked at the THomas Recipe? yet, so Im not sure what is involved with that) and hopefully I can get some requip from my Dr., Thank you for the info. I have been writing down some of the advice so that I can try to be prepared for those horrible, scary W/D's.

No...i am not a nurse..but I do know that you can take Requip with pain meds.I took it and my husband currently takes it..He also takes plenty of Norco and Percs..The Requip works very well for him..he suffers from RLS pretty bad ..He has no side effects from it and takes it at bedtime..@10 pm..and he gets up for work @5am..he doesn't feel groggy or anything...you should give it a try..especially when you are in w/d..
If your taking anything else..a pharmacist can let you know if there is any contradictions between meds..
I know that RLS can drive a person nuts..I was fortunate this time around..But I have suffered with both the arms and legs..and I almost went crazy..Kinda like you want to find a hacksaw and start tearing the limbs off..Do you think you have enough will power to taper??

Sorry to say I am back to taking 15 a day (10's) I have heard of requip but was afriad to take drugs in addition to what I'm already taking, didn't know how it might react together, took flexerils 7-8, which made me very drowsy, but no sleep, still had constant movements of arms & legs. Are you the nurse??

How many are you back to taking a day?? I do not know how long rls will last. But you could go get some a rx called Requip from your dr..it is specifically for that..also did you use any supplements when you went cold turkey?? potassium for rls..etc..

eagle pretty much covered it..it's not a bed of roses..but it won't last forever..good luck and keep posting..

Forgot to say that a heating paad on legs and abdomin will help a lot with rls and cramps, etc.......

No one ever died from cold turkey that didnt have strong health (mostly cardiac involvment) prior to that.....meds are available for both sleep and rls.....read the Thomas Recipe and the Amino Acid Profile and follow them....they work. It wont be a bed of roses, but the bad part will take from 4-7 days of fluish symptoms and then get better and better.......ask more questions if you have them....magnesium/calcium and things can be added to bathwater to help with rls - and the supplements will also help. Some others are quite good at helping sleep issues.........keep posting and ask away - for each problem / symptom there is something that can be done. Good luck to you......
