Hydro withdrawal

On day 2 of being off them completely. Hurt my back at work @ 5 years ago. Been on & off them since then. Have quit CT before, but just need some reassurance. Took 2-3, 7.5 hydrocodone/day. Only took 1 for a couple of days. This is my second day of none. I take depression meds also.  I think tapering & stopping has sent my anxiety through the roof. Went to family dr & they gave me Buspar 5 mg twice/day on a temp basis. My sleep has been HORRIBLE. Only sleeping 1-2 hours a night. Constantly watching the clock. How long before the physical symptoms begin to curb. Have an appt with a psychiatrist next week.

Thank you for your info. I have also been on ambien. I am afraid to stop everything at once. Although the ambien isn't helping at all right now.

Hi..Now you just need to take a deep breath and trust the process. One thing on your side is you did not take a very high dose and for too many years. When we have used most of our life, then it is harder to bounce back do to many factors. One is that we do more unbalancing up stairs in our Brain wiring and there is a lot to this. Try to re-direct yourself and DO NOT watch the clock..The detox will go bye like a turtle at first it seems, and then time will just go flying bye. Make sure you are drinking LOTS of fluids..You can take some vit/min and some vit/min will help with sleep like Magnesium, Potassium, Calcium and Ds at night..These help calm your muscles down. Go out and buy the box that says Electro-Mix on it..You can add this to water & it has those vit/min I mentioned above. You can also look at all the Emergen-C boxes and get different vit/min to add to water..I always get my vit/min from a good natural source and the vit are plant based. Get some Whey Protein Powder too and add some Berries to it for a shake. Make sure you eat very Healthy and get some kind of exercise..Keeping busy the best you can is the key..Go hit some of those AA/NA meetings..This will help you to pick up a lot about this Addiction and more..However, you might have just been dependent and took these right..I do not know..However, just take it day by day and it will pass. It is working on staying clean is what takes the cake..
The Buspar is a light Anxiety pill. I took it with my Clonidine (BP Med) after 22 days of pure he11 and NO sleep. I only took these for about 2 weeks but I did kept up the Buspar for around a month..It is such a light anxiety pill that it takes awhile for you to even calm down a bit..BUT after you have had some time in it will help and it is non-addicting. It is NOT a AD med it is a Light Anxiety med. Ha! it is almost like a sugar pill at first, but it did help down the line. Get the BP med with it and take the BP med at night only..Other wise go all natural as I did after a few weeks to 4weeks on this stuff. BUT it took me almost a month to break down and take something from the Drs..this is your choice. I wish you the best. Look into the Natural way because this will help the Brain Chems/Hormones and such to heal faster, after the removal of these Stims.
Bless
PS Try some Melatonin for sleep.
