I know what your talking about with the diarrhea. Some say they just had the creepy crawlys like they wanted to come outta their skin and were climbing the walls. I had that plus the flu like symptoms, severe depression to the point I became afraid of the fact that there was weapons in the house. I know that sounds horrible but in my case it's the truth. Glad I didn't let it get any further than a thought ofcourse. Yes these drugs are powerful alright! If I had known then what I know now right.......you still out there?

Be patient....I know it $ucks, but you are SEVEN days w/o your DOC....that is HUGE!  Like you, I used Xanax to help with the sleep, it was never a DOC or issue for me.  When I got to the point that the lack of sleep and rls were still hanging on, I found something called "Natural Calm" which is a magnesium supplement u mix with water.  I got it an a health food store.  I still use it today when I need to get to sleep. Just gotta follow directions or u may have add'l bathroom issues which u don't need.

Have you taken any Imodium for the bathroom issues? Don't smoke weed to get u thru today.  Let your body and brain heal for awhile.  I PROMISE u that you are on the right path, turning a corner, almost there...however else there is to say it.  Time an patience are 2 words that you hate to hear when going thru WD's, but they are true.  You are doing it.

YOU ARE ON DAY 7 - WOOHOO!

Keep fighting dude...you are so worth it and you are showing yourself that you can!

I'm contemplating right now James, I'm trying to get it "under control" right now my problem isn't so much the opiates as it is the Somas I'm on for muscle spasms. Some say they break down like a benzo in the body but I wouldn't know I've never been on a benzo. All I know is how they make me feel and unfortunately, I like it! I'm thinking the best thing to do is have my Dr take me off the Somas and put me back on Flexiril. I took those for spasms and their not addicting nor did I ever abuse them. I broke my back and my hip in a car accident 26 years ago. I went thru the windshield and woke up in a field, had no memory of how I got there. I didn't start taking opiates until I developed RA and it got so severe that my joints were breaking down to bone on bone, my left knee actually dislocated one day when I went to get into my car. That's when my Dr really increased the pain meds. She put me on the Fentanyl patch and that turned out to be my DOC. It was horrible! I almost destroyed myself and my family with that drug and I have ALOT of guilt over it. I finally had my Dr take me off the patch and put me on Methadone with hydro 10 for BT pain. Was doing fine until the Somas came along! anyways, I have an appointment with my Doc Monday morning and I'm gonna tell him to cancel the Soma RX and put me on the Flexiril, it's just the right thing to do at this point. How you doing out there? I can only imagine what your going thru cuz I have been there and It was total hell for me!

I'm glad to see you're on!!!!!!!  I love reading your responses so day 7 was bad for you to?  Was day 8 or 9 a lot better from day 7 like I said on my other post I took like 25 a day for the last 5 months of the year and half I took them I built up a tolerance fast. I'm
Starting to hate the doctors that prescribe these cause you get dependent on them and when you need them they want to take you off them knowing you'll have withdrawals. To me there ******* ********.yes I did abused the drug but that was because I kept looking for the same high from when I first started.

I'm here This site is the only thing that can keep me occupied I really wanted to vent with someone I'm new here as well I've been on 1 week now. I knew if I tried to taper off I would just give in one day and take more for the high so I knew cold turkey would be the only way. Everyone said day 3-5 where the worst and day 6 was okay but damn day 7 is the worst makes the first 5 days look like a breeze. Are you detoxing right now? If so what day where you on and how many where you taken a day?

Honey bunches of oats,

I'm UP!   OMG, you're post is almost exactly the same as MINE on day 7.  I wrote that I felt no better than days 1, 2 or 3.

These drugs are powerful...we aren't going to get over them easily.   For me, day 16 was a corner.   But I'm not out of the woods yet.  I took opiates for severe back pain, and that pain is BACK and strong.  I cannot sleep beyond 5 am.  NO way, no how, not gonna happen.   By noon my back hurts intensely and I HAVE to lay down.

I'm panicking and thinking:  "how will I ever work again?"  But that will take care of itself.  The most important thing for BOTH of us to do is NOT to start taking opiates again.

This is your test, hon.   You have come so far, and I was SO proud of you when you had your "flushing party."   You're heading into the last bend...don't give up.    It will get better---I promise.  In one more week you will look back at your day 7 post and be GLAD you stuck it out.

You can do this.

Good morning James, I'm up, bless your heart. I'm brand new to this site but I've been thru withdrawals but only made it to day 3. I wasn't trying to quit at the time, just ran out 3 days short of my fill date . I know they recommend several things but it takes some preparing before you quit. Also a lot of filks on this site I've noticed recommend tapering your pills if you have any left which I know u said u flushed em. Your very brave James, and I so admire you for what your doing And the fact that your quitting cold turkey.. I know I'm not being of any help as of yet but I can talk with you and we will try to figure something out together to help bring you some kind of comfort! You still out there?
