Hydrocodone withdrawals

My story consists of having infection of the left knee and surgery to replace same with months of antibiotics between surgery and norco 5mg/325.  Went cold turkey after 2 1/2 years of narcotics cold turkey.    10 months go by and the knee failed again.  It was replaced on January 5, 2016 and still had a variety of narcotics after surgery, dilaudid, oxycodone and finally back to the norco.   I took my last Norco 5/325 on Sunday March 27, 2016.   I am now at 73 hours out.  The RLS got so bad I took a 5 mg oxy that I had left last night at 2:00 am.  I have no more narcotics in the house.  Is that one pill going to set me back to day one?

Try taking potassium and magnesium supplements. Icy hot, even though it smells bad, helps too. And a heating pad on your legs helps along with the swaddling like Gnarly said. Also Epsom salt baths do wonders. Take as many as you can. Totally relieves aches and pains. Hope that helps!

Hi and welcome to the forum.....  well congrats on taking your life back  it is no fun being chained to a pill bottle....the one pill wont set you back much  but it is good there out of the house now  there is a product they make for the restless legs it is called highlands restful legs  you can get it at walgreens it helps   also try taking a blanket and rapping your legs tightly in it like swaddling a baby that will also help... old dope finds like me also have a way that may sound silly but it works get a ace bandage and wrap your calfs with a bar of soap pressing your calf it looks a bit strange but old dope finds like me have used it successfully  keep posting for support....Gnarly

Thank you Gnarly for your suggestions.  This is my second time going cold turkey due to those knee surgeries.  Doctors hand out prescriptions especially if there has been major problems and then expect folks to cope by cutting them off.  This happened to me twice.   I am a 67 year old college educated person now retired.  I do not ever want to have to detox again from all of these drugs.   In the morning at 11:00am I will reach the 96 hour mark and sure hope there is a turn for the better.
