Hydros & ADD??

I wonder?  When I take a Lortab I become relaxed...not sedated or tired but the jitters go away, it appears I am able to think clearer and I am more focused.

One of my kids is on Focalin..a drug for children ADD.  I NEVER realized that ADD drugs are acutally stiumlants.  It is these stimulants that casuse kids with ADD to become relaxed and less fidgety. Hydros do the same for me.  I'm not looking for an excuse to take a Lortab, I have 60 in my briefcase right now, but was wondering what your thoughts might be and if Lortab has the same effect on anyone else?

I got the same feelings from Heroin it made me feel normal........

I carried Heroin in my brief case too........I was a funtioning Heroin addict
and I thought it made me smarter at my job, my sales numbers broke records

The problem was I couldn't work until I stuck that needle in my arm so that I could even work at all and then during the day I would have to sneak into the bathroom a couple of times to keep feeling normal...........

Oxy (a stronger opiate than Lortab) made me think that way, or so I thought. I'd put off papers for school, or reports for work, until I had my fix...thinking I'd have more energy and focus to get it done. I did get things done about 10 percent of the time. The rest of the time I sat around and enjoyed my high. Maybe heroin is different, I've never tried it, but I do know that Oxy had me snowballed into thinking I did better on it than off.

Yeah, I feel the same way about opiates in general.  They seem to just give me what nature left out.   However, getting them is a full time job so its hard to be functional when you are spending so much time, energy and money scoring.  With Heroin, there is always that pesky issue of running out of functional veins.
It goes back to the fact that yeah, at first the drug helps us feel "normal".,  Then it takes more and more to get the same effect.   Eventually, it stops working completely or to a marked degree to warrant it useless and we are stuck with a habit.
I have ADD or at least a lot of the symtoms.  When I was completely clean I finished college, got a Masters and a couple of different teaching credentials.
When I was using I got humiliation and eventually jailtime (in my earlier days).  With this last pill addiction thing, I was functional but eventually paid less attention to the details of my job and this impacted my performance.

Drugs do a very seductive dance, thats how they get us.
