Giving Back

Today, I will give back to the society in which I live. Looking for what I can do to make this a better world to live. It is soul in action. Spirit is not a stagnant thing, it is alive and moving. I cannot hold onto it or possess it. I need to flow with it, to co-create my day along with it through its spontaneous, moveable state. One of the easiest ways to have soul is to give it away. I cannot give anything that I am not also experiencing, and so in giving spirit and love away, I am also receiving it. Giving in this way gets the smaller me out of my own way so that I can experience the larger one, my transcendental self. The act of giving is an open path toward the soul experience. Paradoxically, giving may be the truest path toward receiving, the way that my humanness reaches toward spirit and clears the channels that carry soul's gifts.

I will look toward where I can be useful.

I say God gave us Buddha!  I love the story of Buddha!  I think of it often and I thank God for buddha!

I love this post. It embraces everything I believe about spirituality. I know a lot of people on this board are Christians but I also don't think we give ourselves (souls) enough credit. Remember that you yourself had enough willpower to do this. You yourself have remained sober for 17 days. Improving your soul is the direct line to learning and moving on. Sure there is a creator and Many souls around you (spirit guides or Angels if you prefer) helping out but I also believe by giving yourself credit, you can better your life in the same way. Buddhist believe in the soul returning time after time to learn life lessons. I believe that by helping other people you learn the most important life lesson which is love. That's all that's important in life if you think about it. Love of yourself and others and spirits and god. Buddism truly is a beautiful religion and much can be learned from it. Congrats on your clean time and if spirituality makes you stay clean and be a better soul then embrace it!

HI good to see you post congrats on 17 days your doing really well as far as volunteering I have found in life God will bless you 6 fold for all that you give so give freely of yourself I have told people I work on this forum between 1to3hr a day 6 days a week and they look at me like im from mars but nowhere have I been blessed more giving my time then right here just as a friend or an encourager be it with a soft hand or with tuff love I have watched God do amazing things here I have see people come to know God my wife and I try to fill the voids in our church as often as we can weather it be in simple maintenance or watching a bunch of 2yr olds in sunday school again you cant out give God if you have idle time use it to help others this world will be a better place for all of us I wish you well find out where your heart is and jump in head first God will give you every thing you need if your in his will it is threw him not by our own power that we can change the world and that might mean just changing 1 life I dont think anyone really knows the value God places on even one soul so reach out and touch someone may God bless you abundantly.....Gnarly
