Some people have suggested Tylenol Pm, which is just Tylenol with Benadryl in it.  I have sleep issues too, but the Tylenol Pm gives me a hangover.  In your first days of being clean, it's just something you basically have to live through.  I don't think I slept until the 5th day and that was for 2 or 3 hours.  I remember posting "Will I die from lack of sleep?"  Hang in there.  You'll soon get some sleep.  And you'll find that you can function on less sleep than you thought.

PS:  There are other sleeping aids, prescription, etc.  But like I said, I think you'll soon be getting some sleep so have faith.

No you don't.  Those pills aren't the answer.  You'll make it through and be so proud of yourself.  Day 3 is a rough day for most people.  You'll start feeling better with each passing day.  Hang in there,

Cogratulations on day 3!!! You have achieved soooo much, you don't want to take those pills again, they will only prolonge this feeling. I think yoda is right, day 3 is a rough day for most but i can say it really does get better, honestly. It may not feel like that at this moment in time but your sleep patterns will improve. I used to lie awake thinking i was the only person that couldn't sleep and i HATED it!! My sleep pattern has returned to normal now and so will yours. Hang in there please. YOU HAVE DONE SOOOO WELL!!!!

Listen to Yoda and I, we have been there. Sleep will return it takes a while but it will. If you have made your mind up to quit the pills then be strong!!! If you want the pills and the life that goes with them back then you will not succeed. W/Ds are not easy but the life that comes after is worth the work and everything you are going through. The first two weeks were he(( for me but then things started to turn around. Two week is nothing compared to life free of the pills and having to be prisonier to them. I am on no medication for the first time in 20 years. I feel great and I don't have to count pills and worry how I'm going to get through the day anymore. You can do the same, its up to you.

The sleep will come. I am 31 days off Tramadol and I went through the same thing--I just wanted to sleep! Then about day 10 or so, I started sleeping better. Now, I am sleeping great. I have to keep giving myself peptalks every stage of recovery I go through. Right now, I am trying to get my energy back. Coming to this forum is really helpful. You can do this. I had to realize it is a process to get over the addiction and is taking some time. Best wishes!
