I know how you feel. You keep promising yourself that with the next script that I swear I will only take them as prescribed. Then you pop one and feel great. Then you think, well one more won't be a problem. Oh God, how many times have we all done that. I think you must really come to terms with the fact that you are addicted to the pills. Please, like Sara stated, tell your doctor. Most doctors have dealt with this many many times and realize that everyone on here giving you advice has been in the same boat as you. Maybe that will give you strength to talk to him. You will feel so much better both physically and mentally. Keep us posted. Oh and by the way, I also tried neurotin for wd's and I ended up taking too many, hoping that they would help~it doesn't. Call the doctor early and talk to them, please.
I tried neurotin, all it does is decrease the the pain trasmissions in the nerve endings. didn't help with any W/D symptoms. I've also tried lyrica and clonidine nothing really helped me. I started my addiction with one 7.5 mg vicodin every 8 hrs for degenerative disc disease and rotator cuff surgery, 8 years later I was taking mostly 6-8 30mg roxicodone along with 10 -20 ultram and 6 lines of cocaine everyday. And taking everything in between if I didn't have that. I went through w/d quite often. I know the anxiety that goes along with that.
I hope you will get honest with your doctor here and tell him what is going on. Are you planning on going to your next appt and getting more? Most us here took pain meds for legitimate pain but that pain became secondary to the euphoria we all tried to achieve. Maybe you need to look at reevaluting your pain. Some of us also had decreased pain once we were off the meds. If you dont do something about this now it will only get worse. The wd;s are minor compared to what is really going on. sara
