I caused my husband to fail a drug screen

My husband has a ruptured disc and has a perscription for vicodin, and several other meds to help it.  One night I gave him 2 of my darvocet, mainly because it was more convenient than going to look for his meds.  I didn't think anything of it because he had scripts for better things than darvocet.  Well, he had an interview with a drug screen the next day which he failed because of the darvocet.  It really stinks but we realize we made a mistake.  Now he has another interview on Monday with another drug screen.  It will have been 18 days since he took my darvocet and I am wondering if it will still show up.  Somebody today said it will show up for up to 30 days.

The davocet "should" be out of the system in 18 days..I am curious though, just what did the davocet show up as, opiates?  what?  You are right, it is a very weak pain med.  How did he fail the test, did they make him take a deeper more specfic one?  In those tests, the molecules of each med react at a different time, from a heat infused method, thus identifying each med individually knowing how long it takes for each to react...Oxycodone reacts at a diffent time than Hydrocodone, or any other opiate.  Each has its individual reaction time, so the science is hard to fool, once you get past the initial 5 panel general test.

18 days will be more than sufficient unless they do a hair test. I tested negative after 4 days (It was legal..but, they never asked for a script..so, I assume it never showed).

After 18 days you should be fine. 30 days is for marijuana. Most tests only read up to a week. I ran into a test that claimed I was poitive for use after three weeks two years ago, but I think that was either a mistake or laziness on the tester's part.

I insisted on a re-test one day later, and it was clean.

i can be wrong, but i though drug screens only show opiates, unless ordered to look for certain drugs,,,I have seen mine before and it said positive for opiates, benzo's, that i was percribed for..
i am sorry that happened.

From what I know thay only stay in you're system for 36 hrs max, but I could be wronge
