I cried for about 5 days in the beginning...I think this is normal. I see it on here alot
I too can not tapper...The addiction has me too strong and I tried for a year to tapper but always ended up right back to beginning. It sounds like you have the desire to get back to yourself without the pills. It is a tough battle that is worth every bit of the struggle! I stopped taking vicodin/norco 16 days ago. I was taking about 10 10/325 everyday for about 3 years. I really am not too familiar with Roxys but I imagine they are an opiate. The first week you will feel like you have a bad flu...body aches..fatigue..mentally drained..diareah.. For me (coming off the vicodin) it lasted for about 5 days..the physical part..then the mental part is here. Everyday gets better and I actually can FEEL who I really am without pills. Still fighting the fatigue To be honest I feel the same as I did while I was taking them...after so long I did not get high on them any longer I just had to maintain a certain level to function. I put the Thomas Rec. to test and I do believe it has alot to do withmy success! That and this site..there are alot of people on here who have been were you are and have gotten through it...They have alot of very useful information and when questions come up they ussually have some good advice! Hang in there. Be strong

I also have been prescribed a med for smoking... and I don't want to try that until I'm done with the roxys. Or should I try that and it may help with the pills? I am so confused and this is tearing me up inside.... All I do is cry
Tapering is tricky business. Most of us can't complete one and you can imagine why.
It is sort of like "Do you want to pull the band aid off slow or fast?". Either way, it is going to hurt.
If you are going to try a taper, do yourself a favor and find someone who can hold the meds for you and dose them out. You are going to find out the meaning of the word temptation real quick. I hate to see you fall back so if you go that route, ask someone close to you whom you trust for help.
Keep posting and talking. It really does help.
Thank you both for the support. I don't think I have the guts to go cold turkey so I am going to try the weaning. I plan on doing 3 a day for a week, then 2 then 1 but in quarters.... I just wonder if that works...?
Great that you looking to stop taking narcs. I myself went the cold turkey way as I wanted off the evil oxy life stealer. You need to do something as it is only going to get harder for you to quit as time goes by. I hope you make the decision to get your life back you won't regret it. I will pray that God leads to sobriety as he has guided you here.
hi and welcome to the forum...there are two ways to detox. cold turkey and the taper method...to taper the idea is to reduce your intake a little at a time to minimize the withdrawals. problem with tapering is for an addict it is very difficult, I could not do it, if I had pills I took them all. cold turkey, you just stop and endure the physical part of the w/ds which last about 7 days for most ppl. take a look in the health pages to the right and you will find the thomas recipe and the amino prtocols which will both help. you also need to check into some after care, once the physical is done the mental part sets in and you will need some tools to help you stay clean...after care provides the knowledge you will need to stay clean. let us know what you decide to do and we will help you.
