I have a question.

I have a question.

Ok so I have been taking lortab 3x a day ( 7.5/500) for like 2yrs now, and I have decided to quit. I dont need any help with that, really ive read a bunch of posts on here and im sure ill be fine. I was wondering if I will like ever be the same physically again? Like will my pain tolerence ever come back, and will I ever be the way I was before? If so how long will it take? I know it messes it up when ur on it, and ive never upped my dose or anything, as I was taking it for actual pain, and still am, I just dont want to take it anymore, because its not helping and dont want to go to a higher dose or anything, and I also want to see how my pain actually is, without the way the pain pills make the pain worse, right? So like when (if ever) will I be able to assess my physical situation? Wish me luck.

Yes pain pills can make the pain feel worse .I found it took about 90 days before my pain level settled down .I also took supplements and exercised everyday I really think that helped me alot . Its takes time but I will tell you over all I am in less pain now then I was when I used meds.

Why did you start taking them? Can it make you feel pain that isnt real? 90 days! But it got better? Ugh, I hope so. But you think my body will go back to normal?

Yes your body goes back to normal ,I am not saying it makes you feel pain that is not there but it can make it appear worse .I was taking them for cronic (chronic) pain.I now take zanaflex and aleve and it does the job just fine .Remember every body's body is different right after you stop taking them your pain will appear worse your body is going to want if fix that it has been use to so be prepared for that.I have honesty never felt better but it just doesn't happen over night .

When I was taking the opiates, my pain actually seemed worse than it was.  My tolerance for pain was way low.  If I had any kind of ache at all I'd use it as an excuse to take pills.  I agree w/avisg  it took me about 3-4 months to get back to my 'pre-opiate' tolerance level.  Where I would take a handful of lortab for a headache before, I would take 2 tylenol and it did wonders!  Your body WILL return to 'normal' (whatever that is).  Exercising, eating right, and drinking plenty of water will speed the process too.

You are very wise to get rid of the pills now instead of upping your dose!

Thank you both. I am so happy now, knowing that I will be able to go back to being the way I was. So it doesnt make you have pain that isnt there? That *****. Its good to know its not as bad as it feels, but still worries me a bit, cuz I have lots of pains.lol I drink lots of water and eat healthy already, so I take good care of myself which is why I want to quit this stuff, because I know how bad it is for your body. So my tolerence will go back to normal too? Thats another thing I was worried about. Because I get bad cramps every month and used to take midol, and now midol is useless to me, and I was worried that I would have to take pain pills for at least that forever. But your bodies both went back to being able to take tylenol and it make actually help, instead of being like you took nothing? This is making me very hopeful. How long were you on them wannabefree330? Oh and your pain tolerence came back too right, like you wouldnt even want to take tylenol for like a headache?
