I need an opinion on my status.

by ziggy, Dec 12, 1999 12:00AM
I am a 27 year old male in fair shape. Since I was 17, I have drank alcohol every Friday and Saturday night. As I became older, around 21, the frequency increased. Pot smoking began around age of 22. I have had spells where I would get trashed every night for months at a time every night, then I would back of to just the weekends again. Cocaine use started on and off about two years ago. I hated the crash, so I very rarely use it anymore. I have obtained my college degree, and I now have a job, but the weekend heavy drinking and pot smoking continue. I feel that they are my outlet and I don't affect my job. Where do you think I stand on the road to addiction.

Get your head out of the "stardust" ziggy.  Fact is if you are getting "trashed" as an outlet and you are asking yourself the question "am I an addict?"  YOU ARE.  I've never thought I may have a problem with lepracy.  If I was asking the question, I would already know the answer.  I may not like it, but I'd know.
There are 12 step programs all over the place, with people who are trying to face life on lifes terms.  Try one of them.

i have to tell you that the older that you get the harder it gets. i started at a very young age and am now only 32, but i cant stop myself alone. have been through rehab 2 times and am now starting to go to out-patient. this time i am doing it for me and believe me you start feeling very old. give it up anyway that you can. do yourself and your future a favor.

I was reciently court ordered to stop driking.(This is in conjunction with U.A. Test for Cocain, and alcohol.  I was arrested for Domestic Violence.  I am now sepperated from my wife, but that is not the problem.

My problem is that after I was ordered to stop drinking, I did not.  I have now made the commitment to myself to no longer drink for the required one year probation.

My question is if I have to take a pee test how long will alcohol be able to show up in that kind of a test?  My question being based on five to seven drinks.

Thank you so much for your help.

Sincerely,

Jeff S.

I *can't* believe you started smoking weed at 22.  That's pretty lame.
