I need help tapering off 30-40 350mg soma a day ....please

Please help!  I am scared. I have a back injury and was prescribed soma, 4 a day along with 10/500 vicodin, lyrica, and 75mg fenytnal patch, I have been in so
Much pain I have worked my way up to 30-40 soma a day, and I can't tell my Dr in fear I won't be allowed back to his clinic. I need some advise on how to taper off that many. I have tried
Before cold turkey with serious withdraw. Can anyone offer

I am so glad to see you found your way over here there is tons of support .tapering is the way to go .If you need anything pl feel free to pm me .I am going to do some research on tapering soma today .I want to make sure we be careful.

hun... you may want to consider telling a doctor... its alot of pills you are taking.  and you may need some help.

there's no shame in that.  addiction to pills is rampant, and ALOT of people seek help for it.

i'm just concerned because that is alot of pills.  and you could seriously overdose on that amount.

so please consider getting some help, in addition to being here...

I am only having addiction problems with my soma, I take all of my other meds as prescribed,I am willing to take any advice expecially from a nurse or someone else with this addiction.  Thank you all so much for the help.

I believe she is talking about the soma.  Now I do agree this time with worried that you shouldn't just stop at 30-40 soma a day.  Thats a lot.......You definitely need to taper a bit....Please talk to Jaqui......she can help you.

Please PM me with details and I'll do what I can to help...you should NOT stop all these meds cold turkey..and I do have personal experience with fentanyl (200 mcg), and I am a nurse.  I do not have tons of experience with all of these meds, but I know enough to tell you not to stop them, at least the fentanyl, cold turkey.  A wean would be so much safer.  Nothing you do will alleviate all w/d s/s, but you can avoid a couple dangerous medical problems if you wean as opposed to stopping ct.

I believe u r asking about tapering off the soma....soma detox can be dangerous and calls for a slow taper that would be best if ur doctor supervised it.....if u r wanting to quit all of these drugs then that is a different story too....again...a slow taper for the soma...maybe clarify which drug or drugs u want to stop?...the soma seems to be causing u a big problem and that dose can be dangerous..keep posting

Hi there... Are you wanting to quit all these at once? I am not experienced enough to know if that is safe or not. What I can tell you is there are Health Pages on the right side of the screen click on those and read the Thomas Recipe for cold turkey and the amino acid protocol as well....that stuff works great when you are detoxing!


Are you still on all these meds at once? Do you think you should quit one med at a time?

Someone with more experience will come along and advise on this... Sorry I couldn't be more help but I am glad you are wanting to get your life back...it's so worth it!
